If the printer says the cartridge is damaged or will still not recognise the cartridge then remove the cartridge and gently wipe the copper area or the cartridge with a dry soft cloth (the area known as the `chip`) to remove any static that may have accumulated on it and re-insert to see if it will solve the problem.

The first thing you can do is remove the cartridge and try re-installing it to see if the printer will recognise it, if it will still not recognise the cartridge then simply hold down the stop button (this is the button with the triangle inside a circle) for a minimum of 7 seconds.

Print file sent but no printing occurs
ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.

cannot recognise new ink cartridge
ANSWER : I followed all the online hints I could find and none worked. So I got to looking at the cartridge ink window and noticed it had a little float inside that was stuck to the bottom. I installed the cartridge again, making sure cartridge clicked in and printer began working.
