HP LaserJet Enterprise 600 M603DN
I have a M603DN laserjet that when powered on shows tray 2 lifting continuously.Fan 101 spins up and after a few seconds slows but never stops. No other motors turn.Had a DC controller and power supply for another M603DN (midwest lightning) and usedthem in this printer. No help. It will show if tray 2 is removed, I can access themenus but it will not print, even from tray 1. Can’t find any paper pieces anywherein the paper path. I’ve swapped the fuser from a working printer(its gone back to the user), and I’ve tried to do an engine test with and withoutthe formatter installed. Just today I replaced the tray lift motor. The problem remains

I had a similar issue with a M602, though it’s the previous generation machine they are close in design. This one kept saying tray 2 lifting but there was not a sound of the motor even trying. My first thoughts were replace the lift motor then DC controller but it was replacing the formatter that fixed it after other parts made no difference.

How to Identify and Fix Common printer Problems ?

The flag located right of the pick-up roller has a fixed position. If the flag becomes stuck or broken, it will produce a 60.02 tray lift error or a “LOAD PAPER” message.
Under Hardware and Sound, click Printer. Right-click your product, and then select Printing Preferences. From the Printing Preferences menu, select Paper/Quality. From the Paper Source drop-down menu, select Tray 2.
Tray 2 lift error can be caused by a damaged, dislodged cartridge contact in the body of the printer, which would explain why multiple cartridges do not solve the problem. Open the cartridge door, remove the cartridge and inspect the contacts on the left side, they should look the same as the picture below.
This issue is caused when the pickup roller is dislodged or not installed correctly. The error message occurs due to the interference between the pickup roller and the lift plate in the paper input unit.
A2. D2 indicates that the paper jammed before reaching the tray 2 feed sensor when pulling paper from tray 2. In this case you would look for any jammed paper in or behind tray 2. If no paper is present, then it is most likely that the printer failed to pick up the paper from the tray.
An E2 error occurs when the printer attempts to print a single-page or multi-page print job, and the paper length selected in the print settings does not match the length of the loaded paper.
Click Layout in the unnamed print options menu at the center of the dialog. Click Media & Quality or Paper &Quality and Select tray 2 in feed from option as highlighted in the below picture. 4.) Click the Presets menu, and then select Save Current Settings as Preset.
Press the Home button. Open the Trays menu. Press the down arrow to highlight the size or type setting for the desired tray, and then press the OK button.
Bend your hips and knees to squat down to your load, keep it close to your body, and straighten your legs to lift. Never lift a heavy object above shoulder level. Avoid turning or twisting your body while lifting or holding a heavy object.
The printer experiences a paper jam from Tray 2, or the printer does not pick paper or picks more than one sheet from Tray 2. A 13. B2. D2 paper jam error usually occurs when paper does not leave the paper tray.
HP Printer Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M477fnw 60-02 error. A 60.2 error is a tray lift error for tray 2. This can be caused by an issue with tray 2 lift mechanism, a broken tray 2 or something jammed that is preventing the tray from lifting properly.
It means that tray 2 and its lift motor are not working. Do you hear thumping or banging sounds? This is also common for a 60.2 error.
For example; a 13. A2. D2 indicates that the paper jammed before reaching the tray 2 feed sensor when pulling paper from tray 2. In this case you would look for any jammed paper in or behind tray 2.
There are a few causes for the M600 series printers to display the 13. A2. D2 input jam i.e. worn rollers, defective pick up drive assembly (as the most common) but the least obvious is a broken/missing gear that transfers drive to the pick up roller, shown with paper feed roller removed.
Quick fix. Error code e02 occurs due to overheating of the printhead or when the paper is not correctly placed into the input tray and therefore the paper feed rollers are unable to pick up the paper from the paper tray.
During a print job, the ink cartridge carriage stalls in the printer, and a Carriage Jam or E3 error displays on the printer control panel. Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.
If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
Duplex print devices, depending on options, software, and printer settings, can print single-sided page to single-sided page (1:1) or double-sided page to double-sided page (2:2).
HP Printer Paper Tray Lock A Paper tray lock is used to prevent the tray from accidental use. The lock is used in printers that contain multiple trays. It is mainly used in printers while inserting special papers into the input tray.
Tray protection

This will be used to prevent like paper from being fed if Auto Switching is ON. Press Printer Setup > Tray Settings > Settings > Tray Protection. Choose a tray and press the button to activate this function.

Enter the correct code: 10060311. This code accesses the service menu in all three models. This follows the normal PIN code pattern, where the middle digits match the printer model number. In reality, all three models use the same PIN code, 10060311.
just GOTO settings > printer properties of your printer > preferences>paper quality >change the paper to A4 size . and restart the printer.
Keep the load close to your waist for as long as possible while lifting. Keep the heaviest side of the load next to your body. If you can`t get close to the load, try to slide it towards your body before you try to lift it. Adopt a stable position.
Stand up slowly and lift the box with your legs

Keeping your knees bent and your back straight, carefully and slowly lift the box using the strength of your legs. By lifting with your legs (and not with your back), you`ll be much less likely to strain or injure your muscles.

HP LJ 4350 – Tray 2 not lifting, no motors turn.
ANSWER : I can’t believe, pieces of paper was under the registration flap, now my 4250N is working.

HP Laserjet 2200, Tray 2 Pickup Problem, Gears Clicking
ANSWER : Definitely not a solenoid problem. I’ve worked on tens of thousands of printers and never replaced a single solenoid. You probably knocked something loose when you installed the pickup roller. Maybe something to do with the gear on the end of the pickup roller shaft. You’ll need to take the gear assembly off to be able to see it.

Paper jam in tray 2 (but no paper pulled from tray) also M476DN models
ANSWER : Isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for rubber rollers. It dries out the rubber and hasten it’s cracking and breaking. It will do nothing to restore the grip. Those rollers are really hard to replace. It would be easy if that dumbass secondary menu really worked. None of the techs I’ve spoke to ever got into it. Everyone I know sends a print job and listens for the roller to rotate into position where you can pull it off.

Printer stops pulling paper from tray 2 after a few sheets
ANSWER : Sticking pickup roller solenoid. Pretty easy fix. You need to remove the right side covers. The back one just slides off, but the top holds the front one. I usually just take the 2 right side screws off and gently lift the top enough to pop off the side panel. Open the metal door on the formatter assy. Then release the tab in the middle. There’s also a tab at the front of the panel. When putting it back on, make sure you engage the rocker switch and the metal rod before pushing it into place. When you get it open, you’ll see the solenoid at the bottom front. There’s 1 screw holding it in place. Remove it and take the top plate and spring off. Be careful not to lose the spring. Then scrape off the gooey crap on top and clean off the plate as well. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt in place of the remnants of the disintegrating sponge that HP uses. You can find it at the hardware store used for the bottom of chair legs.

HP 2200 – blinking attention light and tray 2
ANSWER : Nice day. (QUALITY IS OUR CULTURE)

Tray 1 (upper tray) paper feed problem
ANSWER : There is no way of adjusting the distance of lift. Could be that the pickup roller is worn enough that it will pick up a sheet that is higher, but not one that is lower down. You can look at the end of the roller that first makes contact and see if it is worn smooth.
