This may be caused by pieces of paper or foreign matter in the machine, or paper not loaded correctly.

The rear tray is a paper feeder, not a document feeder. The auto document feeder is on the top of the machine. The rear paper feeder can also be used for legal sized paper.
Rear feed printers
A rear feeding printer can be between a rear feed inkjet printer which would feed in multiple pages from an upright tray at the back of the printer or a laser printer with a speciality media feed such as a bypass tray.
If you find that your paper jams happen on only one side of the printer, there could be an issue with the paper feed. Often, something is blocking the path of the paper as it is fed through the rollers, such as a torn piece of paper.

My printer feeds through one piece of paper all the way and then a half piece of paper and stops. I pull out the paper to stop the paper jam and then it prints but sounds rough. After printing, it doesn't feed the paper all the way through.
ANSWER : And the first 2 sheets, the full and half sheet that go through first, are blank.

ANSWER : I notice that some people responding don’t understand the question! This man is not referring to changing the ink.I also have an MP190 and I get the warning sign saying the ink pads are full. I took out the pads and cleaned them but until reading this didn’t realize that it requires further cleaning into where the pads are sitting. I had to practically stand on my head while my wife held a light into the machine while I used needle nosed pliars to remove the pads. I too would like to know if there is any place one could get access to this small area to remove, clean and replace? I took off the back and it opened up to the electronics of the machine but not the ink pad area. I was hoping there may be someone who knows the answer to this problem. Thanks – B Jones
