Once you see “Device Manager”, click on the icon. With the “Device Manager” open, look for “Ports (COM & LPT)” in the list of different device types. Right click on “ECP Printer Port (LPT1)” and choose “Properties.” Navigate to the “Port Settings” tab and check the box to “Enable legacy Plug and Play detection.”
LPT (line print terminal) is the usual designation for a parallel port connection to a printer or other device on a personal computer. Most PCs come with one or two LPT connections designated as LPT1 and LPT2. Some systems support a third, LPT3. Whatever the number, LPT1 is the usual default.
The LPT port or parallel port is found on the back of the computer and is part of the motherboard. Most of today`s computers are eliminating the parallel port in favor of USB ports.
The USB to parallel printer cable allows your PC to print to most parallel printer device connected through the USB port. Just plug the USB connector of the cable into the USB port of your PC and the other end into the Centronics connector of the parallel printer.
Installation. The PaperCut LPD Service listens on port 515 by default, so IT System Administrators need to ensure network security services or the print server`s firewall don`t interfere with connections to this port.
In Devices and Printers, open the Printer Properties. In the Ports tab, change the port setting to a different USB Virtual Printer Port.
COM ports can be used to connect peripheral devices and LPT port are specifically used for connecting printers.
Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on. On the taskbar, select the Search icon, type Printers in the search bar, and then select Printers & scanners from the search results to open the Printers & scanners system setting.
Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager. Click to expand Ports, right-click Printer Port (LPT1), and then click Properties. If have more than one printer port installed on your computer, click LPT2 or LPT3. Click the Port Settings tab, click Enable legacy Plug and Play detection, and then click OK.

Error Code 51.1 says Printer Error No Kidding.lol
ANSWER : Sometimes turning off and on will allow you to print a few pages. The error is a beam detect error. The only real fix is to replace the laser scanner unit. Could be a loose connector on the scanner or DC controller from the scanner. That’s unlikely. You could try the only other free fix which is to open the scanner assy. and clean all the mirrors inside. The dust could obstruct the laser beam enough to cause the detect error.
