Shot in the wind. I have an Epson 9000 Stylus Pro. Have had it for a long time and take extremely good care of it. I run maybe a dozen or two 2X3 posters a year on it. I am very careful about dust and clean the machine often.

You can print on continuous paper from 76.2 mm (3 inches) to 419.1 mm (16.5 inches) wide. Your printer senses the paper width automatically.
The product prints a nozzle check pattern. Check the printed pattern to see if there are gaps in the lines. If there are no gaps, the print head is clean and you can continue printing. If there are gaps or the pattern is faint, clean the print head.
Epson printers function very well at 1440 dpi, and in general this should be the default setting.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
If the quality of your printouts remains poor even after repeatedly cleaning and aligning the print head, one or some of the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and should be replaced. To replace an ink cartridge before the Status Monitor notifies you that the cartridge is empty, see Replacing an Ink Cartridge.
If you want to show off bold, bright images or photographs to an important client, 1200 DPI is your best option. Professional photographers may need resolutions as high as 2880 by 1440 DPI or even more. This insight also applies to paper. Your choice of paper significantly increases the quality of your prints.
The higher resolution, the sharper the image will be. At Printing for Less, we recommend a resolution of 300 DPIDPI (dots per inch) for crisp, clear results. Lower resolution images appear fuzzy, jagged and blurry. The following image is available with a 300 DPI resolution, and therefore will translate well into print.
A good quality print will require a resolution of 900 x 1260 pixels. For a better-quality print, use 1200 x 1680 pixels. Finally, for the best quality, you should go with 1500 x 2100 pixels.
On Android devices, you can adjust the font size, zoom the screen, and adjust the contrast level. To change the font size for Google Pixel phones and devices running plain Android, go to Settings > Accessibility > Text and display > Font Size and adjust the slider on the screen.
There isn`t much that can be done in the way of repairing a printhead, only replacing parts. By the time a printer technician assesses your printer, gets the part you need, and replaces it, you could have ordered a new printhead from allprintheads.com and replaced it yourself for much less.
HP printhead lifespans can vary significantly. We`ve seen a printhead that prints 40,000 pages and have also seen some print only 2,000 or less. The HP`s one-time use cartridge should last at least ten refills, but it sometimes fails before that.
Although different brands of cleaning solution will slightly vary when it comes to ingredients and ingredient ratios, they are largely based on the same three components: Distilled water. Isopropyl alcohol. Detergent.
If the printer continues to display a printhead error, the printer will probably require service. It may have a defective printhead assembly or there might be a problem with the system board or one of the printhead cables.
However, if you notice physical damage or wear and tear, it`s time to replace the printhead. To fix your Epson WF-3720 or WF-3730 printhead, you can try cleaning the printhead using the built-in cleaning function.
Dried Ink Buildup on the Printhead
If the print cleaning cycle doesn`t work, dried ink may be the culprit. Take the printhead out and wipe the nozzles clean to remove any buildup. Depending on the model of your printer, this may be difficult—some printheads are harder to remove than others.
During the printing process, paper, toner, and dust particles can accumulate inside the printer. Over time, this buildup can cause print quality issues such as toner specks, smears, or marks. The printer has a cleaning mode that can correct and prevent print quality problems.
Right-click the printer icon on the taskbar, then select Nozzle Check.
If your printouts are blurry or smeared, try these solutions: Make sure your paper is not damp, curled, old, or loaded incorrectly in your product. Slide the edge guides to the edges of the paper. Use a support sheet with special paper, or load special paper one sheet at a time.
Recommended minimum resolution for printing is 300 dpi; computer monitors generally have a display setting of 72 dpi. If we indicate that some of your images have low resolution, they may not look bad on your monitor but will likely print blurry or jagged.
The necessary DPI for print work depends on what you`re doing. 300 dpi is sufficient for a simple flyer or business letter. A professional photographer, however, may not want to consider anything below 1200 dpi. If people are not going to view your prints close-up, you can get away with a lower DPI.
You will get high-quality printouts from Epson printers as they provide a good resolution of up to 4800 × 1200 dpi. The ink cartridges used in these printers are cheap and affordable. You can also save money on printing costs by buying re-manufactured cartridges for your Epson printer.
Generally, 300 DPI is great for small prints, while 600 DPI is amazing for large prints. If you`re scanning documents or photos to be used on the web or in emails, 300 dpi is more than enough. If you want to print large photos or blow them up to poster size, 600 dpi will give you better results.
