A typical ink cartridge will yield 250 to 300 pages depending on the color density of the prints. The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages. Some larger laser printers can even have toners that will yield up to 30,000 pages!

“Normal” or “Standard” quality is the default print quality option. This is the best choice for most print jobs. “Best” or “High” quality produces the highest quality print and uses the most ink. Choose this for photos or presentation-grade prints.
While you can use plain paper with your laser printer, using quality paper that has been engineered for use with a laser printer tends to provide better results. Laser printer paper has a high level of heat resistance, as laser printers generate heat when printing.
A laser printer works in almost entirely the same way, but with one notable difference to a photocopier – there is no original page to copy, the laser has to write it out from scratch using digital data and code.
Also heavier than copy paper, laser paper has a slightly smoother finish. It`s treated to accept lots of color ink and is often a brighter white, which provides more color contrast. Laser paper is best for documents that will be presented to customers, such as proposals or presentations.

What repair needs to be done for a "50 needs repair" message on an HP Laserjet IIIP?
ANSWER : I don’t know what you mean by good toner cartridges. They haven’t been built in about 10 years, so if they are new OEMs in the box, they are guaranteed to fail. The 50 error on that printer is mostly a burned out fuser lamp. This site was sold, so as you can see, there are no more kits available.
