Verify the ink cartridge(s) is inserted properly. Some cartridges snap in place, and if they are not inserted fully, the printer won`t print anything. If a lever is moved from its original position to allow for installation of ink cartridges, ensure it is returned to its original position.
The easiest remedy for this is to open the box and stand the cartridge upside down for a few minutes before using. Next, get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and the set cartridge print head down onto it, holding it there for three minutes. This will help to prime the print head and pull the ink out.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
The chip is programmed to automatically reset when the cartridge reads empty in the printer, is removed, refilled with ink, and reinstalled. Upon reinserting the cartridge, the ink level will be reset to full.
Yes, you can use a compatible or third-party brand of ink in your printer. Lower priced printer cartridges from third-party companies are available for almost every popular printer model and can save printer users thousands on printing costs every year.
The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long. Why? Because running on an empty cartridge for too long can cause your printhead to overheat resulting in irreversible printer damage.
Cartridges tend to look alike however, a similar-looking cartridge will usually not function well on your printer if it is not on the list of compatible ones. Using compatible ink cartridges with the same model number will usually work just fine.
To improve print quality for an integrated ink cartridge, you may need to clean the nozzle plate and/or rear electrical contacts. Using an isopropyl alcohol dampened lint-free moist cloth, gently blot the nozzle plate until some ink is drawn out and absorbed into the cloth.

If the printhead cleaning did not work, it is likely time to replace your printer cartridge. Printer cartridges only have about a 2 year shelf life in their sealed package, and a far shorter lifespan if they are sitting idle in your printer. To get the most out of your printer cartridges, make sure you print regularly.
Ink streaks, leaks or toner dust are telltale signs that a cartridge may be a counterfeit product.
Cartridges that utilize metal components and cotton wicks are subject to leak from the tip, especially during the first few uses. Wicks can become oversaturated when a cartridge is overfilled or if the wick has simply worn out over time.
You can only install two black ink cartridges if your printer uses two different types of black ink. If you are trying to install a black ink cartridge in a color cartridge slot, your printer will not function and you could potentially cause damage to the machine.
Printer cartridges can be replaced on an as needed basis! If one cartridge is running low, you do not have to replace the other colors at the same time. However, you do need to have all of the printer cartridges installed in the printer for it to work.

Color alignment is wrong
ANSWER : After a bit more testing it seems that the color registration for yellow works fine. It’s well adjusted and no error is thrown when cyan and magenta are removed (after enabling the color registration errors and disabling the errors for missing toner and drums). Magenta does not produce an error but is not well aligned and cyan produces registration error 4 (coarse alignment of cyan) and registration sensor error 4 (fine alignment of cyan). Black is pretty much empty now, but the error had already occurred when the prints were still fine. Does anybody have some insights on what might cause this?
