If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
Check Cables and Printer USB Ports
Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.
If the LabelWriter appears as Unspecified or Unknown in Devices and Printers on Windows, it usually means that the computer has not identified that device as a printer yet.
Use the printer control panel to restore Wi-Fi setup mode, and then set up the printer again. Go to Restore Wi-Fi setup mode on your HP printer for more information. Enable Bluetooth for an HP Smart app setup: Enable Bluetooth on your computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

The driver is not compatible with your computer. There is not enough storage space on your device. The printer driver conflicts with a third-party app. The printer port settings are not configured correctly.
If you are using Windows 10, Windows 8.1, or Windows 8, select Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Devices and Printers. If you are using Windows 7, from the Start menu, select Devices and Printers. If you are using Windows Vista, select the Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Printers.
If you start getting error code 0x0000011b after installing the latest Windows updates, uninstall them and see if that helps. Many Windows 11 users confirmed that uninstalling KBKB5005565 and KB5005568 resolved the issue.
