Set up anywhere in the office using the LaserJet Pro 400 M401dn built-in wireless networking and share printing resources on a network.
Make sure your Wi-Fi network and printer setup meet connection requirements. Restart the printer and the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions. Make sure the printer is not connected to a computer with a USB cable.
From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Setup button. Scroll to and touch the Network Setup menu. Touch the TCP/IP Config menu, and then touch the Manual button. Use the numeric keypad to enter the IP address, and touch the OK button.
On the printer control panel, press the OK button to display the Home screen. Use the arrow buttons to navigate to and open the following menus: Setup → Network Setup → General Settings. On the General Settings menu, select Show the IP Address, and then select Yes to display the printer`s IP address or host name.
The default password should be “admin” (all lower case), as was listed within the password configuration page at the printer homepage (EWS). Click the Yes button to reply that the response was helpful or to say thanks.
With the latest printer firmware, the default username remains admin (all lower case), but the password is the WPS PIN Number.
