You may clean the copper part and the contact points with rubbing alcohol. Power ON the printer and re-install the cartridge(s). Reset the printer to factory`s default configuration. If it is still not working, please re-install the CD, printer software and driver on your computer again.
The most common reason a refilled ink cartridge does not work is that you didn`t reinstall the cartridge properly. Check the cartridge and make sure it is not dislodged or misaligned. If there is no visible sign of misinstallation, remove the cartridge and reinstall it.
Many places accept your used ink cartridges for recycling. Several of the major “big box” retailers have ink disposal containers near where they sell their ink. Office supply stores also have recycling boxes or stations that accept almost every type of inkjet and toner cartridge.

Disable the Cartridge Policy feature
In the Device Management pane, select the printers (or printer group) to configure. In the bottom navigation pane, select Config, and then select Supplies. In the Cartridge Policy section, select Off. Click Apply.
There are chips inside the original cartridges to record how many pages were printed and they cannot be reset. As a result the printer reads the chips and tells you that the cartridges are empty, even though they are not. This is why you are getting the “ink low” message even though the ink tank is at full capacity.

Toner cartridge full, printer displays: "empty needs replacing"
ANSWER : I once went to a customer who had a similar issue. They had installed new cartridges and judging from the box, they looked OEM. Strange thing was they felt empty when lifted and they were missing the chip on the outside that tells the printer it is installed and keeps track of how many copies were printed with that cartridge. The printer has no other way of knowing if the cartridge is full or empty.

ANSWER : The only way is to buy a chip resetter and reset the chip on the cartridge. You can find them online for about $5. You just hold it against the cartridge until the light turns green. You do run the risk of damaging the printhead due to overheating because of no ink in it.

Expired Ink Cartridges – Any way to move paper with old cartridges?
ANSWER : You could try disconnecting the printer from the computer. Then change the date on the panel to prior to the expiration date. That should fool it.

Dell 3100cn drum cartridge replacement
ANSWER : I have the same problem with excess toner causing lines over the printed page. Have tried to find where the excess toner is stored but cannot do so. No green arrows; there are blue errors but there are no screws beneath these. Have tried removing adjacent screws, but this did not help. Does anyone have a picture of the actual site where the screws need to be removed; for the Dell 3010cn drum cartridge? Bernie

Waste Toner Cartridge is empty but printer is still telling me to replace it
ANSWER : All of the ones I’ve seen are optical. Light shines through a transparent section of the waste box onto a photocell. If toner builds up past that area, it gives a warning to replace it. Possibly toner dust has gotten on the photocell.

Dell Laser MFP 1600n constant paper jam
ANSWER : I’m having a similar issue, checked you resolution and found the little grey piece seems to be in place and able to rock back and forth. When I send a job to the printer it sounds like it is trying to pick up the paper then I get the ‘Jam 0’ error. Any ideas ?
