Press [Function Settings] → [Send] → [Fax Settings]. Press [Fax Activity Report].
Make sure that the receiving fax machine is compatible with your machine (For example, check to see if the receiving fax machine is a G3 fax machine). Make sure that there`s enough paper loaded in the receiving fax machine`s paper tray. Make sure that the receiving fax machine is not busy.
If the memory is full, try sending a monochrome fax using the Direct Send feature or sending your faxes in smaller batches. If the product cannot print a received fax due to a product error, such as a paper jam, the memory full error may appear. Clear any product errors, then ask the sender to resend the fax.
Clearing fax memory by
printing a fax job Print received fax(es). Fax memory will automatically be erased.
The first recognizable version of what we consider the telephone fax was invented in 1964 by the Xerox company, but the technology that led to that advancement was created much earlier. In fact, it was Alexander Baine in 1843 who invented the electric printing telegraph.
Checking the printing history
To see the detailed information, press <Details> after selecting a document. To print a history list, press <Print List>.
Check the fax connection Check for phone line connection issues that might cause fax receiving to fail. Confirm the fax cords are in the correct ports: The phone line should be connected to the 1-LINE port and the answering machine, if used, should be connected to the 2-EXT port on the back of the printer.
Ensure that the phone line cord is connected from the “Line” jack on the rear of the fax machine to the wall jack. If the cord is not connected fully to either the fax or the wall jack or not in the “Line” jack, it may be the source of your problem. Move or connect the cord properly.
If you use traditional analog technology to send a fax, you can test the fax line by making a phone call. Dial the recipient`s number and listen to a fax machine`s sound. The fax line is active and working if you hear a tone or beeping sound.
This mode allows you to quickly recall the target function when using a fax.
The Failed (Fax negotiation failed) error could occur for different reasons: • The system initiated a fax transmission but could not synchronize with the far-end fax. • A remote fax machine was detected, but the sending and receiving modems could not establish communication.
Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box.
The reset key is a single use key and once used cannot be used again. All EPSON printers have inbuilt counters that count up the number of pages a printer produces, the number of head cleans executed and various other attributes. Once a critical level is reached the printer will enter its service mode.
Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language.
Memory on a fax machine makes it easier to print whole pages. Each page can save into memory, then print out in the same per-page format that it was scanned into the fax with. It also makes it easier to reprint a fax in the event of a paper jam or error while receiving the fax.
The “Out of Memory” message means the memory capacity of the unit has been exceeded. The amount of memory used depends on the amount or type of data on the documents being faxed, copied or printed from the PC.
The machine`s memory space allocated for patterns is full and printing cannot proceed. Change the pattern setting in the printer driver and try printing again. Alternatively reduce the complexity of the print job by reducing the number of patterns that need to be downloaded to the machine.
Unfortunately, a deleted fax can`t be recovered. However, here are some suggestions that may help going forward: Receiving and/or sending can now be set for up to 5 email addresses for the same fax number. Having duplicates available would increase the possibility of a fax being kept at one of the email addresses.
The original document is scanned with a fax machine (or a telecopier), which processes the contents (text or images) as a single fixed graphic image, converting it into a bitmap, and then transmitting it through the telephone system in the form of audio-frequency tones.
You can tell if you got all the pages in the fax by checking the cover page and the fax logs. The cover page should include the total number of pages in the fax transmission.
Faxed copies of documents are neither a copy of the original nor the original itself. As such, it is not entirely certain whether faxed documents are legally binding or not. Fax is short for facsimile, meaning an electronically reproduced image of a document transmitted over phone lines from the sender to a recipient.
Type event viewer in the box and select the first result that appears. In the Event Viewer window, use the left pane to navigate to Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > PrintService. Double-click the Operational log to view your print history.

So as long as the fax number recently expired, it is doubtful that the fax number was assigned to a new user. If it was not assigned to a new user, the fax will be automatically discarded.
