This error message is usually the result of a cartridge that is not firmly seated in its designated slot. To troubleshoot the problem, begin by completely removing the cartridge from its port. Reinstall the cartridge by positioning it so that it snaps into place and is securely fastened in its slot.
Remove the toner cartridge and shake it from side-to-side to redistribute the toner. If one of the Toner error messages still remains, the toner cartridge has been exhausted and needs to be replaced.

The most common reason for Samsung printers not recognising a toner cartridge is due to the golden metal contacts on both the cartridge and inside the printer not connecting properly, check the contacts and make sure that no dirt or damage is present.

To use a physical chip resetter, simply press the four contacts on the chip against the contacts on the resetter. On most receptors, a light will flash and then go solid green letting you know the reset is complete.
If you install a new toner cartridge but the “Toner Low”, “Replace Toner” or “Toner Ended” error indication remains, the toner cartridge may not be installed correctly. Reinstall the toner cartridge, referring to the instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge.
Inspect the inside of the printer for the connection point. With a lint-free/dry cloth lightly wipe the contacts on both cartridges and printer to remove any dirt, or residue being careful not to cause any damage. Replace the cartridges in the printer. Power the printer back on.
You cannot print after that. Replace the toner cartridge when the toner becomes empty as it may cause an image drum error.
The most obvious sign of low toner cartridge is poor print quality. Streaking, lines or missed prints are all possible signs that cartridge replacement is imminent. If you have tried rocking the toner cartridge and are still getting poor prints, it is likely time to replace your cartridge.
Turn off the printer and remove the toner cartridge. Look inside the printer in the area below where the cartridge goes. The toner sensor is on the right-hand side.
Optical toner sensing. The printer directs a light beam into the toner hopper through a window (light guide). If unblocked by toner, the light exits through an opposite window and is detected by a receiver. When the optical receiver detects light a high percent- age of the time, the printer concludes that toner is low.
If your new compatible toner cartridge came without a chip, you will have to re-use the chip from the original HP toner that came with your printer in order to use the compatible toner. The cartridge will work fine EXCEPT the printer will not read the toner levels.
Ink streaks, leaks or toner dust are telltale signs that a cartridge may be a counterfeit product.
Since most printer cartridges are outfitted with a unique chip that helps keep track of ink levels, the printer is able to tell that the wrong cartridge is installed and it won`t print if the cartridges are mixed up.
How to Prolong the Life of Your Ink Cartridge. Avoid Large Fonts and Bolds: Large fonts and bold text require more ink, so save by slimming down the size of your text. Some ink saving fonts to try are Arial and new courier.

Toner cartridge full, printer displays: "empty needs replacing"
ANSWER : I once went to a customer who had a similar issue. They had installed new cartridges and judging from the box, they looked OEM. Strange thing was they felt empty when lifted and they were missing the chip on the outside that tells the printer it is installed and keeps track of how many copies were printed with that cartridge. The printer has no other way of knowing if the cartridge is full or empty.

Waste Toner Cartridge is empty but printer is still telling me to replace it
ANSWER : All of the ones I’ve seen are optical. Light shines through a transparent section of the waste box onto a photocell. If toner builds up past that area, it gives a warning to replace it. Possibly toner dust has gotten on the photocell.
