Restoring the factory-set defaults returns most of the settings to the factory defaults. It will not reset the page count, tray size, or language.

The reset key is a single use key and once used cannot be used again. All EPSON printers have inbuilt counters that count up the number of pages a printer produces, the number of head cleans executed and various other attributes. Once a critical level is reached the printer will enter its service mode.

Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Under Printers & scanners, find the printer, select it, and then select Remove device. After removing your printer, add it back by selecting Add a printer or scanner.

Power down the printer and then unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall. Wait for a minute, then plug the printer back in. The printer will reset and turn on.
