F = Fax. Allowing you to fax across documents via the printer. H = Hard Disk.
Printers are configured in the Printers section of the Windows Control Panel. Printer Settings: Displays the printer settings window associated with the selected printer. The desired paper size, among other settings, can be selected in the printer settings window.
A new page should print with a claim code. If the page does not print, see the email address on the printer display. The first part of the HP ePrint address preceding “@hpeprint.com” is the claim code. For example, if your HP ePrint email is “[email protected]”, then “abc” is your claim code.
The easiest way to find your printer model is by looking at the front of your printer. Depending on what printer you own, the model name could be on the corners or the center of the front-facing cover. If it is on the front of the machine, it is usually close to the control panel.
Turn the product on while you press and hold the Resume button for 10-20 seconds. The Attention light turns on. Release the Resume button. The Attention and Ready lights cycle while the product restores factory defaults.
Turn the printer off then back on. If the issue persists, turn the printer off, unplug the power cord and then wait at least three minutes before plugging the power cord back in and turning the printer back on. If the issue persists, ensure the product is running the latest firmware available from HP.com.
Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.
What is a default printer? A default printer is the printer, which all print jobs are sent to unless otherwise is specified – in other words: your primary printer. The installation of a default printer prevents Lasernet from asking the user what printer they want to use each time they print a business document.
Open the HP Smart app, and then create an account or sign in. If you do not have HP Smart, download it from 123.hp.com or your app store. From the app home screen, select your printer name or image. Click Printer Information to view the model name, product number, and serial number.
Find the printer IP address. HP Smart app (Windows, Mac): Open the app, click your printer, and then click the Printer Settings tile to find the IP address. HP Smart app (Android, iOS): Open the app, tap your printer, and then tap Printer Information or Network Information to find the IP address.
Reset. Resetting the printer stops printing and clears the current print job received from the active interface. You may want to reset the printer when there is a problem with the print job itself and the printer cannot print successfully.
You may see a “printer offline” error if your computer can`t communicate with your printer. This can be caused by loose cable connections or an outdated printer driver or operating system. The HP Smart app (below) can automatically diagnose and resolve printer offline issues in Windows operating systems.
Make sure the printer is on and connected to your computer. Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, and then enter your printer model. Select Firmware from the list of drivers, click Download next to the update, and then follow the instructions.
If you`ve tried all possible solutions and you still can`t print to your printer, reset the printing system. This process deletes all printers from your list of printers, deletes information about all completed print jobs, and deletes all printer presets.
Turn on the laptop and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until System Recovery starts. On the Choose an option screen, click “Troubleshoot.” Click “Reset this PC.”
Just above the circuit board on most printer cartridges, you`ll find a small button. You`ve seen these tiny buttons before on cell phones, phone chargers, etc. This is your reset button, and the only way to get in there is either with a paper clip or the tip of a pen (which will leave a tiny ink smudge on the button).
The reason may be quite simple – your cartridge is dry or clogged. Still, adding fresh ink may not resolve the situation. Try to wipe the cartridge with a lint-free cloth dampened with isopropyl alcohol. Please avoid touching the metal parts of these cartridges and the chip not to damage their electrical contacts.
Run Extended Cleaning Cycle

Running an extended cleaning cycle may correct the problem and help the printer recognize the cartridge. Check your printer for a “Cleaning” button and press it or hold it down for a few seconds. Read the printer`s manual to find out how to run a cleaning cycle on your machine.

Essentially, it is the code that tells the printer what to do and how to do it. Printer manufacturers roll out firmware updates from time to time to keep their printers functioning correctly and efficiently. These updates can fix bugs, strengthen security, and add new features.
The printer driver is software that allows the computer to interact with the printer and convert data from the computer into a printable format. The software is downloaded from the manufacturer and installed on either a single computer or onto a server where multiple computers will access it.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Select Start > Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default. If you don`t see the Set as default option, the Let Windows manage my default printer option may be selected.
