Make sure your paper meets the specifications for your product. If paper dust builds up on the rollers, they may lose traction and become unable to feed paper properly. Clean the paper guide. If roll paper does not feed, cut the end straight across and uncurl it by rolling it backward, if necessary.
This issue always happens on various printers including Canon, Ricoh, Epson, Brother, or HP. The common reasons for this issue are various, for instance, the paper input tray is overloaded, dust or moisture can affect the paper feed or paper pick rollers, the printer driver is old, etc.
The Cause of Clogs
Printheads clog because nozzles get blocked by either air or ink. Clogs usually happen when: You keep printing with depleted ink cartridges. Using empty ink cartridges can result in air bubbles that can clog your cartridge and/or printhead.
If you have problems feeding paper, try these solutions: If paper does not feed for printing, remove it from the rear feed slot or cassette. Reload it, then adjust the edge guides. Make sure the paper stack is not above the tab on the edge guides inside the cassette or rear feed slot.
The most common ones are empty ink cartridges, improper cartridge installation, and congested nozzles. Driver and software issues can sometimes cause this problem as well.
There are a few things that could be the cause of this problem, including: Empty ink or toner cartridges that need replacing. Ink or toner cartridges that have become dislodged from their proper place. The wrong paper size loaded in the input tray.
The paper might not be engaged with the feed rollers. The paper-width guide is pressed against the paper stack too tightly. The paper tray is not completely inserted into the product. The paper settings in the print driver do not match the paper loaded in the paper tray.
There are a number of reasons why this might happen. In a large number of cases we come across, the photo paper weight (which is measured in GSM) or overall thickness exceeds the printer`s ability meaning it is too think or too heavy for the rollers to successfully handle.
EPSON recommends using plain photocopy or bond papers for your everyday printing. For digital photos that look and feel like traditional photos, choose one of the EPSON Premium Photo papers.

Print file sent but no printing occurs
ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.
Prints blank pages, won't print from computer
ANSWER : Don’t know why you replaced the fuser, but assuming you had print before, then it must have been something you did during the procedure. Only thing I can suggest is to recheck your work. Just because you reinstalled a connector doesn’t mean that it is seated firmly enough to work. Any flat ribbon connectors that you removed and reinstalled, check to see that the contacts are all flat and not peeled back.
Tray 1 (upper tray) paper feed problem
ANSWER : There is no way of adjusting the distance of lift. Could be that the pickup roller is worn enough that it will pick up a sheet that is higher, but not one that is lower down. You can look at the end of the roller that first makes contact and see if it is worn smooth.
Toner won't adhere to page ONLY when printing from the MAIN tray
ANSWER : When you print from the manual tree, it prints at half speed. The slower speed means the page is in the fuser longer. Replace the fuser.
Paper jam in tray 2 (but no paper pulled from tray) also M476DN models
ANSWER : Isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for rubber rollers. It dries out the rubber and hasten it’s cracking and breaking. It will do nothing to restore the grip. Those rollers are really hard to replace. It would be easy if that dumbass secondary menu really worked. None of the techs I’ve spoke to ever got into it. Everyone I know sends a print job and listens for the roller to rotate into position where you can pull it off.
Optional 250 Sheet Feeder Tray (Q5931A – Tray 3) Constantly "Jams"
ANSWER : You don’t say if the paper moves at all. That’s key in determining the cause. If it’s not moving, then try swapping the rollers with tray 2. If it is moving out of the tray, then that would indicate there is some obstruction it is hitting on its way out of the tray. Hard to troubleshoot remotely when one doesn’t have specific details since we can’t see what is occurring.
when printing front and back, the front will print well but the back will fade
ANSWER : It happens because second side voltage is much higher and the board breaks. Are you getting this issue in auto duplex only, or same error you are getting when you print second side manually?
My printer feeds through one piece of paper all the way and then a half piece of paper and stops. I pull out the paper to stop the paper jam and then it prints but sounds rough. After printing, it doesn't feed the paper all the way through.
ANSWER : And the first 2 sheets, the full and half sheet that go through first, are blank.
