To turn on or enable network discovery Windows 10 settings means to make your device discoverable and connectable. Turning off or disabling these settings essentially protects your computer or laptop from other nearby devices by making it invisible.
Click the [Start] icon on the taskbar①, then select [Settings] ②. Select [Network & Internet]③, then select [Advanced network settings]④. On More settings, select [Advanced sharing settings]⑤. You can create a separate network profile for each network type you use, to turn on or off the Network Discovery feature⑥.
Open HP Smart app, click your printer, click Printers in the top menu bar, and then click Diagnose & Fix. Follow the instructions if any issues are found. If you still can`t print, remove and re-add the printer.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & scanners . Make sure your printer is turned on and connected. Then select the Add device (or Refresh) button. Please wait a moment while Windows searches for the printers that are connected to the device (locally or wirelessly).
Make sure your router is on and connected to the internet. If you have another device on the same router, make sure it can connect to the internet. If the router is not connected to the internet, contact your network service provider. Check the printer connection to the router.

Many HP Printers will broadcast their own Wi-Fi Network, allowing users to connect directly to the printer instead of going through the regular network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet). While this adds convenience, IF the printer is also connected to your local network it is not as secure.
Network discovery is a process of finding devices that also allows systems and nodes to connect and communicate on the same network. This helps network administrators locate devices, create network maps, organize device inventories, enforce accurate device access policies, and gain better control of the infrastructure.
Network discovery is turned on by default for private networks. You can also check (default) or uncheck Set up network connected devices automatically for private networks.
