Click “Start,” “Devices and Printers,” and select the printer. There should be an icon at the bottom of the window next to State, indicating that the unit is shared. If the printer isn`t shared, right-click it and select “Printer properties.” Click the “Sharing” tab and check the box next to “Share this printer.”

Your ”Windows Cannot Connect to the Printer” error may result from outdated printer drivers. In this case, you can fix the issue by updating the installed drivers. Windows` Device Manager automates the process, so you don`t have to find and install the latest drivers manually.

On the General tab, type a session name, click Printer, and then configure a printer. On the APPC tab, provide an AS/400 Device Name, a Local LU Alias, a Mode Name, and a Remote LU to use for this print session. If the AS/400 Device Name you specify does not exist on the AS/400, it will be created.

Select Start > Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default.

Do a hard reset on your printer. To do this you just need to turn off your printer, unplug for a few minutes and then plug the printer again. If that still doesn`t work, try turning the printer and your computer off, and then start it back up again. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your printer driver.

The problem of the printer icon not displaying in devices & Printers is frequently resolved by downloading and installing the most recent printer driver. If your printer drivers are out of sync, they may not function until you download and install the latest update.
