You`ll know the drum is dirty if you notice that the print quality has become blurry and features blank spots or oddly-colored spots despite having full toner cartridges. Horizontal lines across the printout when the paper passes over a dirty area are another sign that it`s time for some maintenance.
Drum Error typically appears when the corona wire on the drum unit needs to be cleaned or when the drum unit needs to be replaced. If you replaced the drum and the message appeared or continued to appear immediately after installing the replacement drum, click here.
If your machine continues to display “Replace Drum” after installing a new drum, the drum counter may not have reset properly. Whenever you replace the drum unit, the drum counter needs to be reset.
The most obvious is most common on laser color printers and can be detected by a flashing message on the printer display screen. Other signs of a bad printer drum include printing blank pages, printing gray pages and strange sounds coming from the printer as it prints.
Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one. The yield of a drum unit is approx. 15,000 pages (1 page/job). There are many factors that determine the actual drum life, such as the temperature, humidity, type of paper, type of toner used and so on.
But the replacement of a drum unit is vital to laser printers` health. A degraded drum unit can cause streaks, smudges, and blank spots on your printed page even if you just inserted a new printer toner. While a broken drum unit won`t break your printer, it will just fail to stop printing at a certain point.
The Drum LED blinks if the drum unit is near the end of its life. Use the drum unit until you have a print quality problem, then replace the drum unit with a new one.
Carefully wipe off any dirty areas visible on the drum. If the drum unit is dirty, apply some rubbing alcohol onto your lint-free cloth and carefully wipe the body of the drum unit.
1 Prepare cleaning material. For cleaning, HP recommends using HP Equipment Cleaning Wipes, but you can use an HP-approved lint-free wipe and deionized or distilled water. Note: If dark spots appear on back side of prints, clean drum screen.
Why do I need a drum? Without a drum unit, the toner powder in the cartridge cannot be transferred onto the page. The two parts work together to create a print! You can`t have one without the other and expect the printer to work properly.
There are many factors that determine the actual drum life, such as the temperature, humidity, type of paper, type of toner used, number of pages per print job and so on. Under ideal conditions, the average drum life is estimated at approximately 12,000 pages.
Shelf life is a period of time the components can be stored and still be suitable for use. A laser printer drum`s shelf life is approximately two years if the drum is still in its protective bag. Leave your printer`s drum in its protective bag until you`re ready to install the component.
Drum heads wear out!

Drummers who practice a lot should probably change heads once every six months. Drummers who own their own drums can probably change the heads without any problem, but if it is the first time, it might be a good idea to have someone at the drum shop, or an experienced drummer, teach you.

The good news is brake drums are built to last 100K to 150K miles and are easy to maintain. However, the parts inside the drum need to be inspected and serviced more frequently.
Professional touring musicians tune their drums often, at least twice a week, so the drums they play can sound their best for every performance. In the drum corps world, drummers sometimes play for 10 or more hours a day, and it`s not uncommon to tune a drum twice in the same day.
For natural skin drum heads, like those on a djembe drum or bongos, small cracks and tears can be filled in with glue, while larger holes could be patched with extra skin. However, both of these methods could change the sound of the drum, and completely replacing the natural skin drum head may have better results.
If your drum head has indents, bumps, or cracks, your set is likely going to be out of tune. On the bass drum, be sure to check that your beater isn`t digging a hole in the drum head as it can be a sign of an imminent puncture.
Machines: one year from the original purchase date. Accessory Items: 90 days from the original purchase date or the rated life of consumable, whichever comes first.
The message “Drum Error” will appear on the display if the corona wire on the drum unit needs to be cleaned. 1. Open the front cover and remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly. Be sure to place the drum and toner assembly on a piece of paper in case of spilled or scattered toner.
The Power light blinks at a steady interval when the printer is processing a print job. If the Power light blinks fast, the ink cartridge door might be open, or the printer might be in an error state. If an error message displays on the computer screen, follow the on-screen messages to resolve the issue.
The machine uses a drum unit to create print images on paper. If the Drum LED (yellow) is lit solid or the status monitor displays the message `Replace Drum:, the drum unit is at the end of its life and should be replaced with a new drum unit (DR-420).
Cleaning the inside drum of a washing machine is one of the most important things to preserve your favorite clothes as well as the machine. Furthermore, this can help to avoid bacteria and keep healthy. To preserve the performance of the washing machine and remove any bacteria, clean the drum at least once a month.
You`ll be able to wash a full load of laundry in just 28 minutes – saving you time and money. Remove bacteria from the drum at the touch of a button with the DrumClean programme. Helping you benefit from more hygienic washing, the bacteria that builds up inside the drum will be cleaned at a hot 70°C.
