Press [Settings]>[Maintenance]>[Print Setting Options]. Select this option according to whether you are using 1-sided or 2-sided printing if you have problems with smudged printouts or paper jams. Select this option if you use a type of plain paper on which ink dries slowly.

Bigger and Better Resolution
The higher the dpi the better the resolution and the better copy/print quality. For example, 1200 X 1200 dpi will give you better resolution or copy/print quality than 600 X 600 dpi, thus giving you better copy/print quality and better half tones.
For example, a 300 dpi printer can print 300 dots per inch of page space, whereas a 600 dpi printer can print double that amount, creating a much higher quality print. Typically, because of this, the smaller the label, the higher the resolution you will need to produce a barcode that scans.
600 DPI printing simply means that the printer compresses 600 dots horizontally as well as 600 dots vertically for every square inch of the card. This allows users to print ultra-high resolution pictures, micro-text, OCR codes, and 1D & 2D barcodes.
Print quality refers to the appearance of the finished product and is usually evaluated in terms of Dots per Inch (DPI). Dots per Inch indicates the number of ink dots a printer can create to reproduce every pixel in an image.
High Definition Printing is essentially printing with very high resolution resulting in lifelike images with detail & clarity that you just cannot achieve with traditional printing.
When designing for a printed format, the best color profile to use is CMYK, which uses the base colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (or Black).
Both of these color modes mix colors to create different color possibilities. The main difference is what they are generally used for in design: RGB is the color mode best for digital designs and CMYK is best for printing.
300 PPI is the optimal printing resolution for digital printing presses. This issue applies to all print products, from small products like business cards and postcards to larger products like booklet printing and a pocket folder.
Go to File > Options > Advanced > Image Size and Quality. Apply the image size and quality settings to the current document or to all new documents. Click “Do not compress images in file.” For default resolution, select “High fidelity.”
The necessary DPI for print work depends on what you`re doing. 300 dpi is sufficient for a simple flyer or business letter. A professional photographer, however, may not want to consider anything below 1200 dpi. If people are not going to view your prints close-up, you can get away with a lower DPI.
True 1200 dpi provides high quality, precise printing, but requires more memory and slows the printing speed. Class 1200 dpi is actually a slightly lower resolution, however it provides high quality printing results on par with 1200 dpi with the Enh.MG and RITech functions.
If an image has a resolution of 300 DPI, this means that every inch contains 300 dots of ink. Photographers and graphic designers typically use 300 DPI as a benchmark for printing high-quality images. However, larger images may require an even higher resolution.
500 dpi is excessively High resolution for printing photos. First do any suitable crop that will match the paper aspect. Then resampling smaller to 3000×2400 pixels (7.2 megapixels) will fit 10×8 inch paper at 300 dpi.
Digital scans of large negatives and transparencies at 600 DPI for standard quality and 1200 DPI for high-quality will get the job done. When deciding on the best resolution for scanning photos, remember that a high DPI only really matters when projects require extreme detail, such as with archival projects.
Most businesses consider 600dpi and higher to be a high-resolution image or print. High-resolution images require more memory to store and can take longer to scan.
If you have 100 DPI, that means there are both 100 horizontal dots and 100 vertical dots, which gives you a 100 x 100 grid in a single square inch. That means you have a total of 10,000 individual dots (100 x 100 = 10,000). You can see that the more dots you have, the more detail you can cram into an image.
For example, HP, one of the largest printer manufacturers, specifies the value 4,800 x 1,200 dpi for its DeskJet 4120. This states that the multifunction device can print 4,800 dots in a row and 1,200 dots from top to bottom. This means it prints a total of 5,760,000 dots per square inch.
Nowadays, most printers have a resolution of at least 300 DPI or 300 PPI. That means for every square inch of paper, there will be 300 tiny dots of ink.
For instance a 300 DPI image corresponds to 300 (length) x 300 (height) pixels image, which means 90 000 pixels.
