Reach into the printer and slide the ink carriage to the opposite side of the track. For example, if it is stuck on the right side, manually move it to the left to check if the track has been cleared. Close the ink cartridge access door, plug in the power cord, and turn on the printer.

Why the Printer Cartridge won`t Move. A paper jam is usually the reason why an HP printer cartridge gets stuck on the right side. Pushing the paper excessively into the printer, on the other hand, is the most common cause of a paper jam. You should only push the paper until the first resistance.
If the printer has been printing continuously for a long time, the Print Head Holder may not move to the center since the Print Head may overheat. Opening the Top Cover while printing moves the Print Head Holder to the right. Close the Top Cover, and reopen it after printing finishes.
Sometimes if the arm is not extended out far enough on the cartridge, it cannot properly snap into the printer. Gently pull outwards on the arm to extend it a bit more and insert the cartridge again.
There are a number of reasons why ink is not flowing through the cartridge, despite there being plenty of ink in the cartridge. The most common cause for this is infrequent usage. If your printer is not used on a regular basis, at least once a week, the cartridge can dry up and then become clogged as a result.

ANSWER : Been working on these since they first were released. Never seen a problem like yours. If it happens again, try doing an engine test, as it bypasses the formatter board. The engine test is located at the right side of the manual tray opening. Look for a hole in the side wall. Stick something like a paper clip into it to actuate the test button. It will then print a lined test page. If it does that, then it points to the formatter board as the cause of your problem.
