A printer printing lines on the page are normally caused by a blocked, dirty, or damaged print head. Blocked ink cartridge nozzles, or not removing protective seals correctly when you installed a new ink cartridge can also cause missing lines of print.
If a printer`s cartridge assembly is a little off the alignment, it won`t print every line in a misaligned way. Instead, it can print a few lines correctly and if the problem accumulates, the printer will print few bad lines.
Ever wonder why your prints sometimes appear faded or streaky? It`s usually because the printhead inside your printer is clogged or dried out. Like with most printers, Canon printheads can clog due to ink or dust drying up and collecting in the nozzle.
The yellow triangle on the printer is the alarm lamp of the printer; if it is lit, it indicates that there is an item that needs to be addressed on the printer. Are there any error codes or messages displaying on the printer? If this is a time-sensitive matter, additional support options are available at Contact Us.
Generally speaking, a visible vertical line down your page after printing is an indication that the image drum in the machine may be damaged. It could also mean that the machine is reaching the end of its life.
Paper curl is caused by an excess amount of moisture in the paper. The first step to ensure less paper curl is to store your paper in a cool, dry area. By doing so, you will reduce the amount of moisture and humidity the paper is exposed to. The next step is to always fan the paper before placing in the machine.
(1) If lines of this pattern are missing, the print head nozzles need cleaning. (2) If these patterns have white streaks, the print head nozzles need cleaning. 7. When cleaning is necessary, perform Print Head Cleaning.
If your printer is spitting out pages full of strange characters, symbols, or strange formatting, your inkjet printer drivers may be outdated, incompatible with your operating system or corrupt. Drivers are important to the proper function of your inkjet printer and it is best to check for updates regularly.
This condition occurs when paper is jammed inside the printer. To resolve the error, find and clear the printer of any jammed paper, or reset the printer if the printer has no jammed paper.
If your printouts are blurry or smeared, try these solutions: Make sure your paper is not damp, curled, old, or loaded incorrectly in your product. Use a support sheet with special paper, or load special paper one sheet at a time. Make sure your paper meets the specifications for your product.
Chevron stripes also known as zigzag or herringbone stripes yield compelling visual effects. Vertical chevron stripes make wearers look taller, while horizontal chevrons make wearers look slimmer.
Vertical Streaks or Lines

Vertical white lines also can signal an obstruction that prevents the laser from imaging pages correctly. Resolving that problem can require cleaning elements of the laser assembly or replacing it altogether.

Dampen a cloth—be sure it is barely damp to avoid damaging your poster–with distilled water, gently apply it to the back of the creased area for a few minutes. Remove the cloth and add weight to the wrinkled site to apply pressure and help the crease smooth out.
Vertical lines in prints are an early warning sign of a low ink cartridge, which may show up before the printer`s low ink alerts start. You can fix the problem by replacing the low cartridge. Gently shaking the drained cartridge a bit may help to get another few prints out of it without vertical lines.
Paper/cover curl is the result of an increase or decrease in the relative humidity in the environment the books are located. The ideal humidity level to keep paper flat is around 45%RH. Print shops control their climate by adding or reducing the amount of moisture in the air to maintain the 45%RH target.
If you notice white or dark lines in your prints (also called banding), try these solutions before you reprint: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. Make sure the paper type setting matches the type of paper you loaded.
