How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

A printer printing lines on the page are normally caused by a blocked, dirty, or damaged print head. Blocked ink cartridge nozzles, or not removing protective seals correctly when you installed a new ink cartridge can also cause missing lines of print.
Press your printer`s Setup button. Go to System Setup. Choose Print Quality and then Calibrate Color. Choose Calibrate Now and press OK.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
A common culprit when it comes to a printer skipping lines is that the print head has become misaligned. Fortunately, most modern printers offer an easy-to-access alignment tool to check on a print head`s alignment and fix it if necessary. Perform a deep dive into the printer`s settings and run the alignment tool.
If your printer is still skipping lines when printing, go to your print quality settings and set it to high quality. If this still doesn`t fix it, try getting new cartridges and using those to see if it makes a difference.
If your PC or the LCD screen on your printer is telling you that your ink cartridges are full but no ink is passing through to the paper, then it`s most likely that you are dealing with a clogged printhead. Blurry documents and images that appear faded are also signs that it`s time to remove the excess ink.
Your printer may be printing pink as the other ink cartridges have run out. Common printer-to-page technology processes colour in four parts; cyan, magenta, yellow and black (CMYK), or toner. The ink cartridges in your inkjet or colour laser printer are split up into four colours.
Clean the printheads: Sometimes the issue why you are unable to print in color is because our printheads are clogged with ink. Clean the printheads and then print a document to check if color printing works. Some printers also have in-built programs that can clean themselves so remember to check for that.
White streaking through the printout or an entire missing color both indicate an empty cartridge. If the cartridge is depleted of one color, it needs to be replaced. Each color is necessary to create the colors used in day-to-day printing.
If you still see white or dark lines or missing colors in your printouts, even after cleaning the print head several times, you can perform a Power Ink Flushing. Note: After a Power Ink Flushing, you must turn off the product and wait at least 12 hours before printing again.
Streaks and unwanted lines could mean that the printer heads are out of alignment. There`s an alignment tool in the printer`s control panel. If that`s not the issue then the printer is dirty. Printer ink stripes may appear along the edges of the paper, which means there`s ink on the rollers and other parts.
The printer printing every other line of a document would generally be caused by a connection issue between the cartridge and printer or a defective cartridge. The troubleshooting steps in the document here may help resolve this issue.
The fixes that you can implement to rectify the missing lines error in the HP printer include cleaning the metal and electrical contacts, removing the black ink cartridge for a few hours, running the Clean Print Cartridges Utility Tool, and replacing the old expended ink cartridges with the new ones.
HP has determined that 99% of all lines and streaks on copies made by feeding the original documents through the ADF are caused by debris on the ADF glass. Debris can include dust, paper or toner dust, residue from sticky note adhesive, correction fluid or tape, ink, fingerprints, and more.
Make sure paper is loaded in the input tray. Open the HP Smart app, and then click the printer image. Click Print Quality Tools, and then select Align or Align Printheads. If prompted by the software or printer control panel to scan the Alignment Page, follow the instructions on the page to complete the alignment.
