Faulty power cords and connections are an uncommon but possible cause of a printer not turning on. Before suspecting a cord failure, ensure that there is power to the wall outlet and there are no conditions preventing the printer from turning on. Testing by substitution can confirm if a cord connection is the problem.
Make sure your devices are properly connected with each other, and the network or the cable you use to connect these devices is normal. You can also try restarting your HP printer. Turn it off completely and unplug the power cord, leave it for a couple of minutes, and then plug the cord back and power on the printer.
With the AC adapter unplugged, press and hold the power button for approximately 15 seconds. Reconnect the AC adapter, and then turn on the computer.
Printer sleep mode
Check that the printer does not have sleep mode enabled: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers. Right-click the printer in question, then select Printer Preferences. Look for an option to disable sleep or time-out mode.
A blinking Power light might indicate a `Fatal Error,” that requires a printer reset. Follow these steps to reset the printer. Without turning off the printer, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer. Wait 30 seconds, and then reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
To restart a locked up computer, press and hold the Power button until the computer turns off. Wait a few seconds, and then press the power button to turn the computer back on.
One of the common causes is the hardware faulty, such as the loose connection of your GPU, or the bad cables or port can also result in the screen not working. Apart from the hardware issue, your laptop screen can be black because of the software problems, such as the virus or the software corruption.

It was plugged into the wall, but it wasn’t plugged all the way into the printer. One person brought in a printer and I switched on the power on the side of the printer. “It has a power switch?”

Printer will not power up
ANSWER : The switch is actually just a plastic piece that moves a metal rod that actuates the real switch in the back. I’ve seen where the rod pops out. Can you hear a click when you rock the switch back and forth? Otherwise, it would be a bad controller board. That is the large board at the bottom of the printer. Never seen one do that in that model.
