Make sure your paper meets the specifications for your product. If paper dust builds up on the rollers, they may lose traction and become unable to feed paper properly. Clean the paper guide. If roll paper does not feed, cut the end straight across and uncurl it by rolling it backward, if necessary.
The paper trays are empty or overloaded. The paper is curled. The print side, or shiny side, of the paper is not loaded in the tray face down. For photo paper, always load the rougher side of the paper facing up.
A clog inside your Epson printer can sometimes trigger the device to send out a wrong “out of paper” warning. But aside from that, it can also cause paper jams as well as more severe internal damages. Thus, it`s essential to examine your printer for signs of foreign material or debris on its rollers.
Check the paper feed path and ensure there is nothing blocking the feed path; sometimes blowing compressed air through the scanner will help. Please make sure the scanner is powered off before using compressed air.
Check the paper guides in the relevant tray (if there is more than 1 installed). If these guides are not correctly aligned the paper will not sit correctly in the tray and paper mis-feeds are possible. 2. If the guides are correctly aligned clean the pick-up pad and hopping roller (again for the relevant tray).
Dust, paper fiber, and other debris might accumulate on the pick rollers and cause paper feed issues. To help prevent paper feed issues, clean the rollers inside the printer and in the duplexer (if equipped).
Load a single sheet of paper or thick media, printable side up and short edge first, in the center of the rear paper feed slot until you hear a beep. Slide the edge guides against the paper, but not too tightly. Note: If the Button Press setting is turned off, you will not hear a beep when inserting paper.
Select > Paper Setting > paper source > Print Adjustments > Paper Feed Adjust.
Slide the paper all the way into the printer. The leading edge of the paper will stop at the Paper Drive Roller. Locate the Paper Sensor/OOPs sensor on the right side of the paper path. It can be seen from the top of the printer with the Top Cover open and has red, black, and blue wires attached to it.
Do a hard reset on your printer. To do this you just need to turn off your printer, unplug for a few minutes and then plug the printer again. If that still doesn`t work, try turning the printer and your computer off, and then start it back up again. Try uninstalling and then reinstalling your printer driver.
If your printouts contain horizontal banding, uneven tint, or stripes, you need to adjust the paper feed. You do this by printing and examining a test pattern, and then selecting the feed adjustments you need.
The paper source settings or tray settings change when you select a different printer in Word. The paper source settings or the tray settings change when you try to print a document in Microsoft Word. Note This behavior is not specific to Word.

Multiple paper feed
ANSWER : Most likely the pickup roller solenoid is sticking. The way it works is the solenoid energizes, pulling down a metal plate that releases the pickup roller. There is some foam on the base to quiet the clicking sound. The foam deteriorates and the plate sticks to the gooey residue. This allows the pickup roller to continue to turn instead of stopping after one revolution when the plate springs back up. That results in multiple paper being fed. Solution is to find the solenoid, which is at the end of the pickup roller shaft. Remove the sticky foam and preferably replace it with some thin sticky backed felt. You can find it at a hardware store as it is used on the bottom of chair legs.
