Three variables are used to identify a network printer on the network: its IP address, its name and its hardware. Any of these will effectively communicate which print device is on the network.
Start by checking your hardware

If you`re using a wired printer, make sure that the printer cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection. Make sure the printer`s wireless option is turned on and available.

Almost all printer`s can print out a network configuration page, which shows the printer`s IP address. Check your printer`s manual for specific instructions, but generally, you can do this via your printer`s settings, or by long-pressing a certain button.
To verify that File and Printer Sharing is on your computer (typically installed by default): Navigate to the Network and Sharing Center. Click Change adapter settings. Right-click the local connection icon and select Properties.
Click “Start,” “Devices and Printers,” and select the printer. There should be an icon at the bottom of the window next to State, indicating that the unit is shared. If the printer isn`t shared, right-click it and select “Printer properties.” Click the “Sharing” tab and check the box next to “Share this printer.”
Use the NET command

Open a command prompt window (choose Start, Run; type CMD then click OK) In the command prompt window, type NET VIEW. That gives you a list of computers on your network. Note the name of the one that your printer`s connected to.

To choose a default printer: Select Start > Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default.
1: Check Printer Power, Cables, and Paper

Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.

The “printer icon not showing in devices and printers” issue mostly occurs for various reasons. For instance, it may occur when there is a corrupted printer driver or a corrupted system. Besides, if there is no Bluetooth support, the printer icon missing problem may also appear.
