This printer will routinely feed multiple sheets of paper when printing many overlapping so printing is across both sheets. I’ve tried different paper quality brands and weights but nothing helps.
Experienced technical support provide their insights in answering this question :
Most likely the pickup roller solenoid is sticking. The way it works is the solenoid energizes, pulling down a metal plate that releases the pickup roller. There is some foam on the base to quiet the clicking sound. The foam deteriorates and the plate sticks to the gooey residue. This allows the pickup roller to continue to turn instead of stopping after one revolution when the plate springs back up. That results in multiple paper being fed. Solution is to find the solenoid, which is at the end of the pickup roller shaft. Remove the sticky foam and preferably replace it with some thin sticky backed felt. You can find it at a hardware store as it is used on the bottom of chair legs.

On the front of the machine, open the manual feed slot cover. Use both hands to slide the manual feed slot paper guides to fit the width of the paper you are using. Using both hands, put one full sheet of paper or one envelope in the manual feed slot until the front edge touches the paper feed roller.
“Manual Feed” is an indication that your machine`s Tray Setting or the paper source in the printer driver has been set to Manual Feed, but there`s no paper loaded in the manual feed slot. 1. Load a sheet of paper in the manual feed slot. The document should print and clear the error message.
Click the Basic tab and select Auto Select or Tray1 from the drop-down list for the Paper Source. The Auto Select setting will automatically pull paper from any paper source (tray or manual feed slot) with a defined paper size that matches your document.
An automatic document feeder is a printer function included in most multi-function machines that lets you easily copy, scan and fax stacks of pages without manually switching out each page. This is a super convenient feature if your office regularly makes a lot of copies, saving both time and potential frustration.
The priority feed slot holds up to ten sheets of media or one envelope, one transparency, or one sheet of labels or cardstock. Load media with the top forward and the side to be printed on facing up.
DO NOT load paper in the manual feed slot when you are printing from the paper tray. Doing this may cause a paper jam.
Sheet feeder: Holds the blank paper and automatically feeds the paper during printing.
There are different methods of paper feeding. With dot matrix printers, paper is often feed through pins on a wheel that grab and slowly move paper through the printer. With inkjet and other page printers, paper is fed through the printer with rollers that grab and move the paper through the printer.
These printers are designed to handle large volumes of paper without the need to stop and load a new page.
Click “Printer” at the top of the window, and then look for a blue check mark to the left of “Use Printer Offline.” If the check mark is there, click the “Use Printer Offline” option to remove it, at which point your documents will start printing. If your documents do not print, proceed to the next step.
The manual feed slot is located on the front of your printer. It can be closed when not in use, making the product more compact. Use the manual feed slot to print transparencies, labels, envelopes or postcards in addition to making quick runs of paper types or sizes that are not currently loaded in the paper tray.
