What Does Duty Cycle Mean? The duty cycle of a printer, stated simply, is the maximum number of prints that a machine can produce in a month. Its primary purpose is as a unit of measurement for the lifespan of printers; it signifies the maximum capacity of how much a machine can print or copy in a given month.
Duty cycle refers to the robustness of a printer or copier. It`s the absolute maximum number (or range) of pages your device can print.
In printing, the duty cycle of a printer refers to the estimated number of pages the device is capable of printing in a given period of time without failing or causing damage to the machine.
Maximum monthly duty cycle is the maximum number of pages a device can be expected to deliver in a month without jams or errors. The recommended monthly page volume is the amount your should expect to print each month in order to keep your machine in optimal condition.
Going beyond your printer`s monthly duty cycle may lead to worn out parts and eventually, shorten the lifespan of your printer. Before you buy, figure out the average number of prints your office goes through per month and be sure to that your proposed printer`s monthly duty cycle exceeds those expectations.
If the valve is pulsed ON at variable durations (called pulse-width modulation), the duty cycle varies. If it is pulsed ON for 0.05 seconds in a 0.1-second cycle, the fuel injector duty cycle equals 50%. If it pulsed ON for 0.09 seconds of that same 0.1-second cycle, the fuel injector duty cycle equals 90%.
A duty cycle refers to how frequently an air compressor can be run over a certain period of time. For example, if an air compressor has a 100% duty cycle, that means it can run continuously without needing to rest and cool down. Most standard compressors have a duty cycle between 50-100%.

Cartridges are not really empty!
ANSWER : All you really have to do is replace the page counter chip on the cartridge. The printer has no way of seeing how much ink is in the tank, so it counts pages equally for all the ink tanks. Here is a tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StRaKEE0Af0 Hope you can find someone who sells good counterfeit chips, they don’t all work well as you can see by the comment on the video.
