There is no paper in the automated Document Feeder, but always this message about paper jam. I read that it’s due to the small spring and I tried to do something with it… and it worked (2 times). But the problem came back, and now nothing can fix it so far.

There is a thin plastic arm that the paper pushes on. It is spring loaded. If it doesn’t return and unblock the sensor after the paper passes it, you get the paper jam warning. I’m guessing that is the spring you are referring to.

When using the automatic document feeder (ADF) to copy, scan, or fax, the error message `Paper Jam: The original is jammed in the automatic document feeder (ADF). Open the ADF cover, remove and reload the original, and then try again.

your pickup roller is dirty and the printer can`t grab a piece of paper. it will say paper jam when it does this. get a drop of dishsoap and clean the pickup roller of your printer with this. scrape at it with your fingernail to get the roller clean and wipe it off with a damp washcloth.

My printer feeds through one piece of paper all the way and then a half piece of paper and stops. I pull out the paper to stop the paper jam and then it prints but sounds rough. After printing, it doesn't feed the paper all the way through.

Paper Jam error but no paper jam
ANSWER : Obviously you didn’t get all the paper cleared out. There is a small scrap in the paper path causing the jam when the paper hits it. You can try clearing it out by inserting something stiff like a piece of file folder from the back of the printer into the paper path and pushing the offending piece out that way.

hp 8600 pro when power on, paper jam message appear but there is no paper jam in the tray
ANSWER : Hp 8180 Photosmart All In One code keeps says paper jam and carriage jam when neither are jammed. I followed all the recommended things to do. I live in Raleigh NC any place to take this or any suggestion.

Paper Jam and carriage jam code when nothing is jammed
ANSWER : Did you try cleaning the encoder strip that runs through the cartridge assy.? Use Window Cleaner on a paper towel. Also, check inside on the right. I’ve seen a lot of times where there is a folded up scrap of paper that stops the carriage from going all the way to the right.

ANSWER : Check your paper tray settings as printer may be looking for paper from the manual feed tray on top of printer.

Keep getting a paper jam message. There is no jam.
ANSWER : You can quit wondering. Parts are unavailable. I’ve seen posts where people have 3D printed the parts or machined them out of metal.
