Click on the Start Button. In the search box type “printers”. Select View Devices and Printers. Right Click on the printer icon, select Printing Preferences.
In the Devices and Printers window click on Add a printer. Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings”, then click Next. Select Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next. Under Hostname or IP address: Type in the IP address of the printer you intend to connect to.
Most printers with a touchscreen display or menu: Open the Wireless Summary or Network Settings menu to find the IP address. Printers without a touchscreen display or menu: Print an Information page or Wireless Network report using the button press combination for your printer. The IP address is on the printout.
“Manual Feed” is an indication that your machine`s Tray Setting or the paper source in the printer driver has been set to Manual Feed, but there`s no paper loaded in the manual feed slot.
Open the document or file you want to print. In the top portion of the program window or browser you`re using, open the file menu by clicking File and then Print from the drop-down menu.
The manual feed slot is located on the front of your printer. It can be closed when not in use, making the product more compact. Use the manual feed slot to print transparencies, labels, envelopes or postcards in addition to making quick runs of paper types or sizes that are not currently loaded in the paper tray.

ANSWER : I had a similar paper pickup problem on laserjet 6mp. The printer would go through start-up sequence fine but when it received a print job you could here the main gears/rollers turning but no clicking from paper pickup solenoid, then eventually error lights would come one . I incorrectly assumed it was an error with the paper pickup mechanism and wasted a whole day taking the printer apart and replacing the paper pick mechanism. Long story short, if I had bothered to figure out the secondary error light codes from the start, I would have realized it was just a bad fuser and would not have wasted so much time.

LaserJet 4 won't Power Up
ANSWER : I haven’t seen that particular behavior on that model. It either works or it doesn’t. My first choice would be the power supply.
