Open the start menu and select Control Panel > Administrative Tools > and choose the Services icon. Locate the Print Spooler service and right-click. Then select the option to “Stop” the service.
Check Cables and Printer USB Ports

Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.

Update the printer driver

In the top menu, click View > select Show hidden devices. Expand the Printers menu > Right-click on the available device > select Update driver. Alternatively, you can select to Uninstall driver, restart the computer and it will automatically reinstall the printer`s driver.

Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.
Ghost prints happen when the drum or fuser unit within your printer become faulty. Because a fault with this element won`t heat the particles of the toner to a high enough temperature, the marks being made on the paper are much lighter in colour and appear more faded than typical documents.
Click on Device Manager from the context menu. In Device Manager, click on View and select Show hidden devices. Next, expand the Printers section to view your printer.
Due to the majority of today`s multi-functional printer`s having wireless capabilities, it opens them up as an attack gateway and makes them susceptible to viruses and malware. In this post, we share the best security software you can employ to protect your printer, and ultimately your business.
One way is through infected software. This happens more commonly when a printer is connected through a computer or a WiFi network, and installing infected software that way can cause it to get a virus. Another way a printer can get a virus is through infected printouts.
In the search box on the taskbar, type control panel and then select Control Panel. Under Hardware and Sound, select View devices and printers. Select and hold (or right-click) the printer you want to share, select Printer properties, and then choose the Sharing tab. On the Sharing tab, select Share this printer.
In most cases, all you have to do to set up a printer is to connect it to your PC. Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on.
Make sure that both ends of the USB cable are correctly inserted into the computer and the printer. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable at both ends. Disconnect the printer and the computer and reconnect them. Try another USB port if available.
Check that the correct paper is properly loaded into the printer and is not jammed. Replacing damaged cables, plugging in loose or disconnected cables, and fixing paper jams as necessary may resolve the issue.
If you`re using Windows 10, click or tap the “+ Add a printer or scanner” button. No matter if you`re using Windows 11 or Windows 10, the operating system begins “searching for printers and scanners,” and if it manages to find your local printer or scanner, it will try to install its drivers automatically.
The easiest way to connect the Canon printer to the computer is via a USB cable. It`s the traditional method of connecting devices. One end of the USB remains connected to the printer, and the other must be connected to the computer`s USB port.
The problem of the printer icon not displaying in devices & Printers is frequently resolved by downloading and installing the most recent printer driver. If your printer drivers are out of sync, they may not function until you download and install the latest update.

Paper Jams
ANSWER : Not familiar with that printer, but I will tell you about models I am familiar with. On those, the backstop of the tray which fits against the back of the paper signals the size of the page to the printer. It does so by moving some arms on the side in and out so they contact 1 to 3 switches in the printer and that tells the printer what size. Basically, that is the problem you are having, the printer thinks that a different size of paper is in the tray than what you are telling the printer to use through the software.

White background is grey
ANSWER : Not familiar with that model, but looking at a photo of its toner cartridge, I would suspect a failed wiper blade in the drum portion. That doesn’t explain why the problem went away. Usually a bad wiper won’t cause overall black background, but streaking. You can take out the cartridge and look at the bottom part that contains the drum. If it is covered with toner, then it is probably a bad wiper blade. You can try turning the drum with your fingers and see if it cleans up as it rotates past the internal wiper blade.
