HP Color LaserJet Pro M475DW
I have had this printer a little over two years and it’s worked great without any problems. Yesterday it started freezing up. I have reset the computer and the printer, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and updated drivers. I turn it off and back on, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn’t. I get error messages that this item or that failed to print. Any suggestions? Your list only contained a M475DW, mine is actually an M476DW

I’d try the firmware update first to see if that works. Just make sure it is not locked up first, might even repower it before you run it to be sure. You can check your firmware version I think by hitting the Blue i button on the home screen or printing the config page out from the setup menu (reports submenu) newest version so far is 20150608. If it still freezes then it would be a formatter board issue.

Connect the printer to the computer either using a USB cable, parallel port cable, or SCSI cable and then connect the power plug to a power outlet. After connecting the printer to the computer, it can be turned on using the power button on the front of the printer.
The best print speed for everyday prints (medium quality) is about 50–60 mm/s. However, users should note that some materials can be printed very quickly (e.g. PLA) while some require a slower rate to prevent warping or print failure (e.g. TPU).
Typically, printers capable of speeds in excess of 30 pages per minute are classified as fast printers. While there are enterprise and professional level printers that can churn out prints at over 100 pages per minute, most businesses do not require printing speeds that high.
Laser printers can print much faster than inkjet printers can. Most are equipped with high-capacity paper trays, so they can print more pages at a given time. They`re also built to handle the printing of thousands of pages per month without succumbing to wear-and-tear.
Laser printers can generally print around 30 to 40 pages per minute while Inkjet printers can print around 15 to 20 pages per minute. So, the printing speed depends on the type of printer used and the color format of the document (grayscale or color).
Color printing and color print quality

If you want to print colour — whether it`s a full-page colour photograph or simply a pie chart — you`ll almost certainly be better off with an inkjet printer. Colour laser printers are often bulky and quite expensive and generally aren`t suited to home or small office use.
