How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

The common reasons for this issue are various, for instance, the paper input tray is overloaded, dust or moisture can affect the paper feed or paper pick rollers, the printer driver is old, etc. Thus, the printer cannot detect the paper that has been inserted into the tray.
Paper is jammed in the product. Remove the jammed paper, and press the B&W copy button or the color copy button to clear the error. No paper is loaded or multiple sheets fed at one time. Load paper in the product, and press the B&W copy button or the color copy button to clear the error.
Common causes of paper jams include: Damaged rollers. Inserting paper that is incompatible with the printer. Loading the paper incorrectly.
Improperly Loading Paper into the Device
Loading paper that is stuck together, frayed, curled or bent can cause a jam. Overloading the paper tray, loading different thicknesses of paper in the tray or using paper that isn`t appropriate for your particular printer can all result in a jammed printer.
Usually a quick paper setting adjustment will clear up a ghosting issue right away. Run a cleaning – Most printers have a cleaning function built into the machine. Run this a couple of times to attempt to clear up the printing issue. Inspect the drum – Sometimes excess toner powder can stick to the drum.
Ghost prints happen when the drum or fuser unit within your printer become faulty. Because a fault with this element won`t heat the particles of the toner to a high enough temperature, the marks being made on the paper are much lighter in colour and appear more faded than typical documents.
To remove dust or smudges, gently wipe the obstacle sensor glass with lens-cleaning paper. To remove stubborn smudges, moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with lens cleaner and gently wipe the obstacle sensor glass. Warning: Do not use a lens cleaner that contains flammable gas.
If the paper is even slightly askew, the rollers will pick it up a little crooked, and — guess what — the crooked sheet will immediately get jammed. So even though there`s no paper stuck when you start printing, the loose paper guides are ensuring that a sheet gets jammed whenever the printer starts doing its thing.
The message Paper Jam may appear on the display if the Brother machine is not feeding paper correctly, paper scraps have become stuck in the print head path, the paper is not loaded properly in the paper tray, the jam clear cover located in the back of the machine, is not installed properly or the PE Actuator is …
Unplug your Brother machine from the AC power outlet (electrical socket). If the paper support flap is open, close it, and then close the paper support. Pull the paper tray (1) completely out of the machine. Pull the two green levers inside the machine to release the jammed paper.

Paper jam in tray 2 (but no paper pulled from tray) also M476DN models
ANSWER : Isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for rubber rollers. It dries out the rubber and hasten it’s cracking and breaking. It will do nothing to restore the grip. Those rollers are really hard to replace. It would be easy if that dumbass secondary menu really worked. None of the techs I’ve spoke to ever got into it. Everyone I know sends a print job and listens for the roller to rotate into position where you can pull it off.

paper drive wont accept paper
ANSWER : There is probably a small scrap of paper stuck at the left edge of the paper path. The paper hits it and skews to the left. The smaller size bypasses it. You need to shove something stiff, like a piece of file folder, down the paper path and attempt to dislodge it.
