Possible causes

A piece of paper, or other obstruction, is stuck somewhere inside the printer. One of the toner cartridges or photo developer units may be installed incorrectly or may be damaged. A door or cover may not be closed completely. A roller or gear on a paper feed option may need repair.

Noises During the Printing Process

The printer may make a buzzing, grinding sound during the print process if the Paper Tray 1 (Multi-Purpose Tray / MPT) pick roller is out of position. Opening and closing the tray or the Front Door will reset the roller position and eliminate the noise.

Whilst all printers will make a noise to some extent, the crown for the noisiest type of printer must go to the dot matrix printer.
The noise you are describing could be the carriage sticking or a small piece of debris inside the unit. You could go thought each of these documents step by step to clean out your printer to see if it resolves the issue.
If your printer keeps jamming, you should know that the most common cause of a jam is misalignment of the paper. Paper needs to load in smoothly, completely flush with the tray. Overfilling the tray is a great way to ensure you will be spending some personal time getting to know the inside of a printer.
If the material is not being melted at enough speed, it will get stuck on the hotend while the motor keeps pushing which results in it being grinded, try to increase the temperature by 5ºC or 10ºC to help the filament melt in time.
Laser printers are almost always louder than ink printers because they have many more parts in operation at the same time.
A noise print is part of a technique used in noise reduction. A noise print is commonly used in audio mastering to help reduce the effects of unwanted noise from a piece of audio.
Whether they`re feeding paper, moving print arms, heating toner, or spraying ink, printers are highly mechanical devices that create noise.
A grinding noise when using the scanner glass or flatbed to make a copy or scan a document is typically due to a mechanical malfunction of the scanner assembly. However, it may be the result of debris or objects interfering with the travel of the print head.
The paper has holes along both sides that fit over the sprockets located on the feeder wheel. When the wheel turns, it feeds the paper into the printer. The holes are torn off the paper after the printout is complete. And, yes, printers still use this type of feeder mechanism.
Filament grinding, which is accompanied by a “clicking” or “squeaking ” sound coming from the extruder, usually happens when the extruder gears are unable to push the filament further towards the nozzle. Over time, the gears grind away the filament, until they can`t grab it anymore.
Make sure your paper meets the specifications for your product. If paper dust builds up on the rollers, they may lose traction and become unable to feed paper properly. Clean the paper guide. If roll paper does not feed, cut the end straight across and uncurl it by rolling it backward, if necessary.
Some examples of Impact printers are Daisy-wheel, Dot-matrix, and line printers.
Xerox B305 A4 Mono Multifunction Laser Printer

For a multifunction printer, the Xerox B305 is one of the quietest on the market, operating between 50 to 53 dB(A) when printing and reaches a maximum of 59 dB(A) when copying. “The Xerox B305 is a great addition to any home or small office requiring a mono MFP.

A front load washing machine experiencing grinding noise is usually attributed to generally two possible cause: metal foreign object caught and rubbing between drum and tub or, a worn out bearing.
What is sensor data noise? Sensor data noise is any unwanted or irrelevant variation in the sensor readings that does not reflect the true state of the phenomenon being measured. Noise can be caused by internal or external sources, such as sensor drift, thermal noise, electrical noise, or environmental noise.
The two biggest culprits for excess noise in computers are fans and the hard disk. Fans are used to move the heat produced by the processor, motherboard, and graphics card out of the computer. If the fans are loose, too small, or not powerful enough, they can create noise.
The Sound Scanner is a new type of acoustic camera developed by Seven Bel. The innovative system includes the following components: Sensor Unit. Mobile device. Software.
For the average ear, fireworks and gunshots can sound very similar. But Creighton says there are a few simple ways to distinguish the two and save law enforcement some time. “So the biggest way to tell the difference is going to be how you`re hearing the sound,” Creighton says.
Firearms Are Loud

Almost all firearms create noise that is over the 140-dB level. A small . 22-caliber rifle can produce noise around 140 dB, while big-bore rifles and pistols can produce sound over 175 dB.

Printer rollers are the small circular rubber pieces that help feed printer paper through your printer. Over time, they can accumulate dust from the paper and ink residue from printing double-sided pages. To clean your printer rollers, you`ll need to first locate them in your printer.
Paper Feed Rollers

Created with a blending technology developed based on our extensive experience, these materials offer both a high friction coefficient retaining characteristic and superb abrasion resistance. We also mass-produce belt-shaped samples, in addition to ordinary rolls.

Multiple paper feed
ANSWER : Most likely the pickup roller solenoid is sticking. The way it works is the solenoid energizes, pulling down a metal plate that releases the pickup roller. There is some foam on the base to quiet the clicking sound. The foam deteriorates and the plate sticks to the gooey residue. This allows the pickup roller to continue to turn instead of stopping after one revolution when the plate springs back up. That results in multiple paper being fed. Solution is to find the solenoid, which is at the end of the pickup roller shaft. Remove the sticky foam and preferably replace it with some thin sticky backed felt. You can find it at a hardware store as it is used on the bottom of chair legs.

Paper feeds straight through without printing on an Epson R2400
ANSWER : I was able to get it to print the internal test page by holding down the sheet paper feed button while turning the machine on — then continuing to hold the sheet paper feed button. It took several attempts, feeding a page straight through, but eventually it caught the sheet and printed. So it may be a timing issue as others have mentioned. It could still mean that the feed rollers are worn out. The back side of the large D-shaped feed roller has visible abrasion on it. The abrasion is difficult to see as the roller does not stay with the flat side exposed.
