To fix printer not detected error, restart the printer by unpluggin it from the outlet and plug it back to see if it works. Check for printer connection. If everything is just fine, install the printer driver and update it.
Add a printer using Wi-Fi Direct: On your printer, make sure Wi-Fi Direct is turned on. On your mobile device, tap All printers > Add printer, and then tap HP Print Service or HP Inc. Tap Directly to the Printer, select the name of your printer with DIRECT in the name, and then tap OK.

With the latest printer firmware, the default username remains admin (all lower case), but the password is the WPS PIN Number. To locate the WPS PIN Number, print a Network Configuration Report and locate the PIN Number within the WPS Information section.
