If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
Make sure that both your computer and your Lexmark printer are connected to your network. Restart your printer. In some cases, a simple restart can fix the issue. Unplug the printer and check if there is any paper stuck in the machine, and if the toner is installed correctly.
You can find the printer IP address: From the top left corner of the printer home screen. From the TCP/IP section in the Network/Ports menu.
The Lexmark Universal Print Driver (UPD) is a one-driver standard solution for printers. Instead of using a separate driver for each printer, you can install the Lexmark UPD for use with a variety of both mono and color laser printers and multi-function devices.
Most printers will stop working when they`re out of paper, ink or toner, or if the unit detects an issue with the ink or toner cartridge. When this occurs, you might receive an error message or notice blinking green or amber lights on your printer.
Among the more common technical issues that may bring down a printer are disconnected cables, malfunctioning routers, and low ink levels. Moreover, software problems such as interrupted connections or incorrect settings in your system`s drivers can also cause your printer to show up as offline.
There are two main types of printer drivers: Printer Command Language (PCL), and PostScript (PS).
Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.
The printer driver is software that allows the computer to interact with the printer and convert data from the computer into a printable format. The software is downloaded from the manufacturer and installed on either a single computer or onto a server where multiple computers will access it.
Open the printer`s web page and Sign in as Administrator. On the General tab select Reset Factory Settings in the menu.
Notes: The default user name and password is admin. If LMC is configured to connect to an LDAP server, then use any valid user name and password.
A mistake in anything that`s printed is a misprint. You might also call it a typographical error or typo.
Try moving the router and printer closer together
Switching to a wired connection, then back to wireless, can sometimes work as well. Persistent print problems might be a sign that it`s time for a new machine.
