How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?
Our sources include academic articles, blog posts, and personal essays from experienced technical support :
From the home screen, touch Settings > Network/Ports > Network Overview > Active Adapter. From the home screen, touch Settings > Network/Ports > Wireless > Setup On Printer Panel > Choose Network. Select a Wi‑Fi network, and then type the network password.
Printer device settings involve information about the printers, such as its name, whether or not it`s the default printer, and what drivers it`s using. Unlike printing preferences, which only affect the computer, some of the printer`s device settings, like its name, will be visible across the network.
A Network Configuration Page lists important network settings such as network status and the printer IP address.
Windows 10: Right-click and select Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Devices and Printers. Right-click your product name and select Printer properties.
Lexmark™ wireless printers include Wi-Fi® ready, standalone-printer models and all-in-one print, copy, scan, and fax versions.
From the home screen, touch Settings > Network/Ports > Wireless > Wi‑Fi Protected Setup > Start PIN Method. Copy the eight‑digit WPS PIN.
Select Start , then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Scroll down to Related Settings and select Print server properties. Select the Drivers tab, and see if your printer is listed. If it is, you`re all set.
Turn off the printer and turn it on again after a minute. Make sure that the printer is on the Ready state, otherwise capture the error message and restart the printer once more. Check the actual connection of the printer. Make sure that the printer is on the same network with the computer.
Printing through USB Connection
Connecting a printer through a USB cable is the most common way of connecting a printer which provides the more fast printing. All you need to do is plug in the USB cable from your device to the wireless printer and install the necessary drivers so that you can use the printer.
Make sure your router is on and connected to the internet. If you have another device on the same router, make sure it can connect to the internet. If the router is not connected to the internet, contact your network service provider. Check the printer connection to the router.
Select and hold (or right-click) the printer you want to share, select Printer properties, and then choose the Sharing tab. On the Sharing tab, select Share this printer. If you want, edit the share name of the printer. You`ll use this name to connect to the printer from a secondary PC.
A printer configuration defines a list of available printers, along with the defaults and constraints for each printer. A valid PrinterConfig. xml can be used to create a printer configuration at the Site or Organizations containers using the Visualization Configuration Administration utility.
The IP Configuration window configures the Internet Protocol parameters, allowing the device to receive and send IP packets. In its factory default configuration, the switch operates as a multiport learning bridge with network connectivity provided by the ports on the switch.
Open properties of internet connection and find the network properties. For example, in Windows 10 you can go to “Open Network and Internet Settings”, this will open a window with a status tab. Move to status tab and open “View your network properties”, in there you can find the properties of your network adaptors.
Wireless printers, also known as WiFi printers, can connect to a network without needing to be hard-wired/cabled into that network. Once a wireless printer is connected to a WiFi network, the computers, smartphones and tablets also connected to that network can print to the WiFi printer.
To check the network, print out the Network (LAN) settings and look for the SSID (Network name). Click the appropriate Network icon in the system tray: Note the SSID name (Network name). The screen you see will depend on the version of Windows you use.
Press the WPS button on your router. On the product, press the home button, if necessary. Press the left or right arrow button, select Wi-Fi Setup, and press OK. Press the up or down arrow button, select Push Button Setup (WPS), then press OK.
Click the Global Settings button in the upper right corner. Then a drop-down menu will pop up. 3. Select Settings in the drop-down menu.
An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique numerical identifier for every device or network that connects to the internet. Typically assigned by an internet service provider (ISP), an IP address is an online device address used for communicating across the internet.
Press the Right Button next to Network Setup. Press the Right Button next to TCP/IP. Press the Right Button next to the IP Address. Using the number pad or arrows on the device, configure your static IP address.
To change your printer IP address, type its current IP address into the address bar of a web browser. Then go to the Settings or Network page and change your printer`s network to a static/manual IP address. Finally, type in the new IP address.
Choose “Printers & scanners“. Select “Add a printer or scanner“. Wait for the “The printer that I want isn`t listed” option to appear, then select it. Select “Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname” , then select “Next“.
How to find SSID on Android: Go to Settings > Wi-Fi. An SSID you are connected to will be shown above Connected.

Lexmark MS410dn not picking up paper
ANSWER : What colour are the pick rolls ? The new and enhanced pick roll tires for this series are green ones, P/N is 41X0918. The old ones in grey produced the pick errors due to a manufacturing fault. You can test the rolls by removing the tires and clean the roller profile with a roller rejuvenator liquid. Or simply use a cotton cloth with some dishwashing liquid. Clean the tires under warm water. If this works (temporarily) – replace the roller tires in your printers. That has almost every time for me.Good Luck,Andreas

Lexmark X466 empty tray
ANSWER : The “Load Tray 1 with A4 paper” means the printer is looking for A4 size paper in Tray 1 and that is not what it is detecting. You need to make sure that the paper size that is in the tray matches what the printer is expecting so it understands that it should be looking for a specific size of paper. If you are printing on regular Letter size paper – set the printer tray to Letter instead of A4 and message should go away.

Lexmark paper feed problems
ANSWER : On my X204n Lexmark laser printer, it was doing the same thing you described – basically sounded like it was trying to pick up the paper from the tray and then failing after several seconds. When you’d open the paper tray, the paper looked like it had been partially taken up with some black scuff marks on the paper that lined up with the rollers that take up the paper. I inspected the rollers and although they looked a bit smooth and worn, didn’t seem like they should be a problem. However, this particular model has just a rubber tire almost like a car tire – the rubber can come off the hard plastic wheel on the inner portion. So I popped off the two rubber “tires”, turned them inside out and put them back on. When turned inside out, the rubber looked nice and … rubbery and had a lot more grippy feeling to them. The very first printing attempt after that and the paper sucked up perfectly with no problems. I think the problem is solved! So if you have similar “tires” that take up the paper, try flipping them and see if it works for you too.
