Lexmark`s entry-level C3326dw color laser printer produces quality output, is relatively fast, and supports most operating systems and platforms. Aside from the high running costs typical of lower-end laser machines, there`s little to complain about.
Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on. On the taskbar, select the Search icon, type Printers in the search bar, and then select Printers & scanners from the search results to open the Printers & scanners system setting.
There are various methods of installing device drivers, depending on the source and type of device. The most common include using the installation CD or DVD that came with the device, downloading the driver from the manufacturer`s website, utilizing Windows Update, or using the Device Manager tool.
Lexmark is a privately held technology company headquartered in Lexington, KY, with offices throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Lexmark manufacturing facilities are located in Boulder, Colorado and Juarez, Mexico.
Lexmark was formed on March 27, 1991 when investment firm Clayton & Dubilier completed a leveraged buyout of IBM Information Products Corporation, the printer, typewriter, and keyboard operations of IBM.
WHAT IS A LOCAL PRINTER? A local printer is one which is directly connected to a computer via USB cable. It is a printer that is only accessible from that workstation and can only service one computer at a time. Local printers ensure employees with immediate printing needs have reliable access to a printer.
Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.
You may see a “printer offline” error if your computer can`t communicate with your printer. This can be caused by loose cable connections or an outdated printer driver or operating system.
A USB cable connects your printer to your computer, so you have a direct connection every time you print. The majority of printers are compatible with a USB 2.0 A/B cable. The “A” side of the cable plugs into the USB port on your computer and the “B” side plugs into the back of the printer.
In the search box on the taskbar, enter device manager, then select Device Manager. Select a category to see names of devices, then right-click (or press and hold) the one you`d like to update. Select Search automatically for updated driver software. Select Update Driver.
A device driver is a computer program which operates or controls a particular type of device that is attached to a computer. It provides a software interface to hardware devices, enabling the operating system and other computer programs to access hardware functions without precise details of the hardware being used.
Open Device Manager and locate the device. Select and hold (or right-click) the device and select Update driver software… from the context menu. In the wizard, select Browse my computer for driver software. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
In the most fundamental sense, a driver is a software component that lets the operating system and a device communicate with each other.
The Device Manager is an integral component of the Microsoft Management Console, serving as a central hub for monitoring and managing the hardware connected to your computer. It provides an organized overview of all the Windows-recognized devices, including keyboards, hard drives, USB devices, and more.
In the Control Panel window select Devices and Printers. In the Devices and Printers window click on Add a printer. Choose “Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings”, then click Next. Select Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next.
Select the Start button, then select Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners . Under Printers & scanners, look for your printer. If you see your printer listed, you`ll know it`s installed. If you don`t see your printer listed, select Add a printer or scanner.
Select Start > Settings . Go to Devices > Printers & scanners > select a printer > Manage. Then select Set as default. If you don`t see the Set as default option, the Let Windows manage my default printer option may be selected.
Expand Disk drives. Right-click on the drive and select Properties. Select the Details tab and select Hardware lds from the drop down menu. The firmware version will be displayed on the far right.
When contacting Lexmark Technical Support or arranging warranty service, you will need to know your printer`s machine (model) type and serial number (SN). This information can be found on the label on the printer`s back cover.

Lexmark X4650 paper Jamming!!
ANSWER : Well I had two printers that had similar issues – misalignment of paper feed which rendered both printers useless. I shook the Lexmark x4650 a couple of times and then plugged it in and got new paper and voila the misalignment was gone and it actually fed paper like it used to and printed it too.

Lexmark paper feed problems
ANSWER : On my X204n Lexmark laser printer, it was doing the same thing you described – basically sounded like it was trying to pick up the paper from the tray and then failing after several seconds. When you’d open the paper tray, the paper looked like it had been partially taken up with some black scuff marks on the paper that lined up with the rollers that take up the paper. I inspected the rollers and although they looked a bit smooth and worn, didn’t seem like they should be a problem. However, this particular model has just a rubber tire almost like a car tire – the rubber can come off the hard plastic wheel on the inner portion. So I popped off the two rubber “tires”, turned them inside out and put them back on. When turned inside out, the rubber looked nice and … rubbery and had a lot more grippy feeling to them. The very first printing attempt after that and the paper sucked up perfectly with no problems. I think the problem is solved! So if you have similar “tires” that take up the paper, try flipping them and see if it works for you too.

Lexmark X466 empty tray
ANSWER : The “Load Tray 1 with A4 paper” means the printer is looking for A4 size paper in Tray 1 and that is not what it is detecting. You need to make sure that the paper size that is in the tray matches what the printer is expecting so it understands that it should be looking for a specific size of paper. If you are printing on regular Letter size paper – set the printer tray to Letter instead of A4 and message should go away.
