How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Liquid electrophotography (LEP) is a similar process used in HP Indigo presses that uses electrostatically charged ink instead of toner, and using a heated transfer roller instead of a fuser, that melts the charged ink particles before applying them to the paper.
All-in-one (AIO) printers or multi-function printers includes the features of multiple devices in a single package. These printers usually come combined with a scanning unit, which can act as a printer, a scanner and a copier.
Two of the most common types of printers are laser printers and inkjet printers. These printers operate differently, however, and require specific types of printer ink to function: Laser printers use powdered toner. Inkjet printers use ink cartridges filled with tinted liquid ink and additives.
Laser printers use toner powder instead of dye or pigment-based ink. Laser printers produce electrostatically charged dots on a light-sensitive drum which attracts toner powder. The toner is transferred to the paper and fixed by a heating process. Laser printers deliver crisp black and white and brilliant color prints.
If you do not have a new toner cartridge at hand and need printing before obtaining it, you can continue printing about 20 pages(*1) by opening and closing the front cover or the output tray. Print quality is not guaranteed.
All-in-one laser devices offer colour or black & white printing, so if you print, copy and scan a variety of document types our laser all-in-one printers are there to help.
Laser printers can handle both black and white and color printing, though color laser printers are more expensive than monochrome laser printers. Typically, laser printers are used for printing whereas newer all-in-one printers can function as a printer, copier, scanner and fax.
While ink is standard in most conventional inkjet home printers, laser printers depend on toner and lasers for their output. Given that they`re based on their own unique technology, you`ll find that they also have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
Color laser printers use four separate cartridges, sold in black, cyan, magenta and yellow. Each color can be replaced as needed, so if it`s just your cyan cartridge that`s running low, that`s the only color you have to replace!
With an all-in-one laser printer, you can print, copy, scan, and fax using just one machine. Save time with a simplified workflow and maximize your productivity with a multifunction laser printer that quickly and easily handles all your household or business printer needs.
The main difference between laser and ink printers are the type of cartridges each printer uses. Laser printers use toner cartridges while ink cartridges are used by inkjet printers. A laser printer uses an electrical charge to instruct where and when the toner should be dispensed onto the paper.
How a laser printer works. They work by using a heated wire to positively charge a drum, which is then passed over by a laser that reverses the charge in the areas that it hits. The now-negatively charged areas of the drum represents the image or text that is to be printed.
Direct thermal printers do not require any form of ink or toner. A direct thermal printer is equipped with a “thermal head” that generates heat. This thermal head heats up the special paper in specific spots as it rolls through. Each spot that gets heated up reveals the dye impregnated in the paper.

Epson Workforce 600 won't clear paper jam message
ANSWER : In my case, I have a WorkForce 7620 having this problem too, and there is white post on a sliding plastic bar which is the reason of my sorrow. I cannot move it, and it is getting me so desperate, because it makes the print head get stuck. I try to push it down to get the print head to the right position. Then, when I turn on the printer, the print head cannot move. The bar post don’t go down to free the print head and all I got all the time is an error code 0x69 on the screen. I see no paper jam there. Any suggestion, please?

Workforce 600 continues to bend corner of paper then jam where the sheet passes through the metal platen at the right side of printer.
ANSWER : Everytime that I have seen that happen it was because there was a small scrap of paper in the paper path on the side of the fold. I have dislodged hundred, if not thousands of them by shoving a thin, flexible plastic stick down the paper path. You can also cut a piece of file folder to size and use that. For small scraps of paper, it is usually stiff enough to clear the obstruction.

Toner Leaking
ANSWER : You don’t say whether you are using questionable remanufactured toner cartridges or how old the cartridges you installed are. If it really is toner spilling out, then the most likely cause is the waste toner section. Whatever leftover toner is on the drum after the print job is done is swept into the waste bin. If it fills up, much like an overfilled trash can, it spills out. You can take the old cartridge, since it’s not doing you any good anyway, and poke a hole in it and dump out the waste toner. Then cover the hole with tape. Make sure you got the right half, that’s the one that has the drum installed on it.
