Labels are printing too large, too small, or information is cut off. This issue would be caused by “scaling,” or the setting that shrinks or stretches the label to fit the size of your paper. For a 2×7″ label printed from a thermal label printer, the paper size should be at least 2×7″.
If too big I simply fold it down around the label to size. I`ve seen labels also over two sides of a box. It doesn`t have to be on just one side. The only requirement is that it can be read.
To resolve this issue, change the default paper size of your printer: Click Start, point to Settings, and the click Printers. Right-click the appropriate printer, and then click Properties. Click the Paper tab, and then click the paper size you want to use in the Paper Size box.
The most common reasons why labels don`t print in the right place are: Your printer settings are not adapted. Your labels contains too much text information or the font size is too big. You might not be using the correct label templates.
Label DPI: Select the correct DPI setting, 203 DPI or 300 DPI, for your printer. If you are unsure which DPI you should choose, check your printer documentation. In most cases, you can leave the setting at 300 DPI. However, some printers (such as the Zebra 2844 thermal printer) require the setting to be set at 203 DPI.
Resize a data label
Click the data label and drag it to the size you want. Tip: You can set other size (Excel and PowerPoint) and alignment options in Size & Properties (Layout & Properties in Outlook or Word). Double-click the data label and then click Size & Properties.
If you`ve made a mistake and need to change the address, weight, dimensions, or anything else, the only option is to request a refund from USPS or UPS for that label and start over.
In printer settings, the “sheet size” or “paper size” setting controls how your design is scaled to the label sheet. Make sure the size selected matches the size of the sheet of labels you are using. Otherwise, your labels will be misaligned. The most commonly used size is letter-size 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper.
Label alterations
Your online label cannot be altered and must be used as it was printed. If you find an error in your label, print a new label with the correct address and request a refund.
Navigate to Tools > Options > Fonts. Select font type and sizes for displaying and printing records and lists. Select font type and size for printing labels.
If you`ve made a mistake and need to change the address, weight, dimensions, or anything else, the only option is to request a refund from USPS or UPS for that label and start over.
