How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Not all printers are PostScript printers. However, all printers use a printer driver to translate digital documents created by software into an image that the printer can print. Another page description language is Printer Control Language (PCL), which is used in many small home and office printers.
Check cables or wireless connection

Make sure that the printer`s USB cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. If your USB isn`t recognized, see Automatically diagnose and fix Windows USB problems. Check the wireless connection (for wireless printers).

Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.
Note: To determine whether your printer is a PostScript printer, look at the printer`s documentation. Alternatively, open your system preferences, find the Printers and Faxes control panel (Windows) or Print & Fax in System Preferences (Mac OS), and look at the driver properties.
PCL is device dependent which means that it uses the printer hardware to perform its duties. On the other hand, PostScript is device independent which means that it performs its function without needing any hardware support.
Restart the printer and the computer or mobile device to clear possible error conditions. Restore Wi-Fi setup mode. Most printers with a touchscreen display or menu: Open the Wireless or Setup menu, select Network setup or Settings, and then select Restore Network Settings.
The Print Spooler is software built into the Windows operating system that temporarily stores print jobs in the computer`s memory until the printer is ready to print them. In some circumstances you may need to stop and/or restart the service.
If you find a likely culprit, you can delete the graphic, reimport it, save it in different format, or simplify it (for example, reduce its dpi). You can also try printing the file to a printer with more memory. Some PostScript errors don`t help you determine a likely cause.
The PostScript Printer Driver (Pscript) is the Microsoft standard printer driver for PostScript printers. Provides information about capabilities of Pscript drivers. Provides information about the DLLs, text files, and binary data files that comprise Pscript components.
The error handling utility is useful for diagnosing problems when a job doesn`t print. This utility installs a PostScript error-handling function in the printer to help determine the cause of some PostScript printing problems. PostScript errors are printed on a page with other status information when an error occurs.
Many of today`s software programs no longer support the PS file type — but there is a select niche of print aficionados who still use it. Although PostScript is well-supported by printers, not all models can convert the files effectively.
Post Script drivers essentially send a page description to the printer, where it is rendered. Since local workstations are generally MUCH faster than the printer`s, PCL printing is much faster than Post Script and because PCL printing requires less printer memory some jobs may only print if sent using PCL drivers.
Your printer should have been packaged with a USB cable regardless of whether it is a wireless or wired printer. Plug the cable into your printer and your computer`s USB port. The direct linking should trigger your computer to recognize the printer and start up the software needed to complete the installation.
Any USB cable that has the standard connectors will work with any USB printer.
Simply plug the USB cable from your printer into an available USB port on your PC, and turn the printer on. On the taskbar, select the Search icon, type Printers in the search bar, and then select Printers & scanners from the search results to open the Printers & scanners system setting.
On high-end printers, PostScript processors remain common, and their use can dramatically reduce the CPU work involved in printing documents, transferring the work of rendering PostScript images from the computer to the printer.
