The HP LaserJet Fuser helps make sure your HP toner is applied to your paper evenly and with vivid color and detail on every page without putting a major dent in your budget. It lets you print up to 150,000 pages of dynamic quality before you need to replace it.
A component found in electrostatic printers, laser printers, and xerographic printers and photocopiers. The fuser unit is used to permanently bond toner to a substrate by applying heat and pressure. A fuser unit is made up of two rollers; one to apply heat and one to apply pressure.
The fuser assembly has two blue handles (red arrows in picture below); hold those two handles as you pull the fuser straight out and remove it from the printer. Install the new fuser in the same manner; make sure it is seated well, and then close the door. That`s it for the fuser!
The fuser unit is a heated roller that melts the toner particles onto the page as it passes through. This seals the toner to the page so it`s no longer in powder form and makes sure that the toner doesn`t smudge of fall off the paper when it comes out of the printer.
The message “Fuser Kit Low” or “Fuser Kit Very Low” on your HP Color LaserJet M553 series printer is a warning that you have reached the recommended number of prints for your fuser assembly. (The fuser assembly is the consumable part in your printer which heats up and bonds toner to the paper.
A fuser unit is a pair of heated rollers within the printer that fuses the toner onto the paper being printed on. Toner particles are pulled to the paper to create the desired text and images as the paper passes the imaging drum.
The biggest difference lies in the name, as they tend to include all of the same parts. A maintenance kit should include a new fuser assembly, and a fuser kit should include all the necessary maintenance parts.
The fuser unit must be replaced every 100,000 pages, usually along with the transfer belt and feed rollers as part of a maintenance kit. The error code 010-351 indicates that the fuser has reached 75,000 pages and as a result has 25% life or less remaining.
This error is primarily caused by one of the following conditions: A transfer alienation failure in which the ITB is stuck and unable to properly engage the internal transfer rollers. The SR9 sensor (the primary transfer roller disengagement sensor) has gone bad. The fuser drive assembly has failed.
The fuser unit or fuser assembly, is a critical component of your laser printer. Using pressure and heat, it fuses the toner powder onto the page to create a print, and without out it, your printer cannot operate.
In reality, there`s not a whole lot of difference between fuser kits and printer maintenance kits. The biggest difference lies in the name, as they tend to include all of the same parts. A maintenance kit should include a new fuser assembly, and a fuser kit should include all the necessary maintenance parts.

Parts that may be included in a maintenance kit are the fuser assembly, transfer roller, pickup rollers, separation pads, corona assembly, fan assembly, cleaning cloths and gloves. The fuser assembly is a pair of rollers that fuse the toner into the fibers of the paper.
