The 2200 series takes it even further, with features such as built-in duplexing and faster than ever printing true 1200dpi at 18ppm!
HP LaserJet printers use a laser beam and one (or more) toner cartridge to print directly without ink. Using laser toner cartridges, the typical laser printer can produce precision prints more quickly than ink. Unlike a laser printer, inkjet printing relies on liquid ink cartridges.

A4 Black and White Laser Multifunction Printer, Perfect for Business. Print, Copy, Scan and Fax, ADF. Print speed up to 21 ppm (black) USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi.

LaserJet is a printer by Hewlett Packard (HP) designed for high print quality, horizontal and vertical printing, printing graphics, text, letters, memos and spreadsheets. It is considered to be the first desktop laser printer.
Laser printers are faster than inkjet printers too. Print speeds are denoted in pages-per-minute (PPM). Laser printers have print speeds of 14 PPM and higher. The basic laser printer can print about 30 to 40 pages per minute, whereas high-end models churn out more.
Laser printers are built to accommodate the demands of a workplace so they are engineered to print faster (between 15 to 100 pages per minute, or ppm), while inkjet printers print slower at about 16 ppm.
The printers laser beams your print onto a metal drum. The drum uses static electricity to attract powdered toner to the drums cylinder. The drum rolls the toner onto the paper in the form of your print. The toner is melted & pressed onto the paper by heat from a fuser as it passes through its rollers.

A semiconductor diode laser is currently used in laser printers as the light source. It emits NIR light at around 800 nm wavelengths.

LaserJet as a brand name identifies the line of laser printers marketed by the American computer company Hewlett-Packard (HP). The HP LaserJet was the world`s first desktop laser printer. Canon supplies both mechanisms and cartridges for most HP laser printers; some larger A3 models use Samsung print engines.
The most significant difference between a laser printer and an inkjet printer is that a laser printer uses dry ink and can produce monochromatic prints only, whereas an inkjet printer uses wet ink and can produce color prints as well.
Laser printers can print much faster than inkjet printers can. Most are equipped with high-capacity paper trays, so they can print more pages at a given time. They`re also built to handle the printing of thousands of pages per month without succumbing to wear-and-tear.
Laser printers are more efficient, printing pages more quickly than comparable inkjet printers perform. The printing process is noticeably quieter with a laser printer vs. inkjet. Even when not in use for long periods of time, toner does not run the risk of drying up and becoming unusable.
Laser printers produce higher overall print quality when taking into account both text and images. However, inkjet printers specialize in color image printing and produce high-quality color photos. When it comes to crisp, clean black and white text and color images, laser printers are unmatched.
Laser printers can generally print around 30 to 40 pages per minute while Inkjet printers can print around 15 to 20 pages per minute. So, the printing speed depends on the type of printer used and the color format of the document (grayscale or color).
Check Ink or Toner Cartridges & Paper Tray

Issues in your printer`s ink or toner cartridges as well as an empty paper tray can cause your printer to delay your prints. Make sure that your cartridges are not running out of ink and the paper tray is not empty.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, they have always been good at printing photos. Historically, laser printers have been associated with high-quantity printing over quality, and while this is partially true, it is possible to have the best of both worlds thanks to the latest developments in laser printing.
Quality: While inkjet printers are considered powerhouses when it comes to high-resolution color printing, laser printers do produce solid color and black and white results.
The printer`s laser projects your print onto a drum. A drum then uses static electricity to attract the dry toner to the drum`s cylinder. The drum then rolls the toner onto the paper to create your print. The toner powder is melted and pressed onto the paper with heat from the fuser as it goes through a set of rollers.
Atoms can be cooled using lasers because light particles from the laser beam are absorbed and re-emitted by the atoms, causing them to lose some of their kinetic energy. After thousands of such impacts, the atoms are chilled to within billionths of a degree above absolute zero.
A few meters have a maximum of 1,000 volts but laser printers typically produce more than that – up to 3,000 volts is quite normal and higher voltages perfectly possible.
Monochrome laser printers only print in black and white. If you only need to print plain text documents, this model could be right for you. Color Laser Printer. Color laser printers print in cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
The Laserjet 2200 dates back to 1999 but there are still machines in daily use in business.
While ink is standard in most conventional inkjet home printers, laser printers depend on toner and lasers for their output. Given that they`re based on their own unique technology, you`ll find that they also have their own unique advantages and disadvantages.
The main difference between laser and ink printers are the type of cartridges each printer uses. Laser printers use toner cartridges while ink cartridges are used by inkjet printers. A laser printer uses an electrical charge to instruct where and when the toner should be dispensed onto the paper.

Print Quality Issue (Streaks and Ghosting)
ANSWER : Streaks are mostly caused by internal drum wiper blades that clean left over toner off the drum to prepare it for a new image. Ghosting is caused by a leftover image on the drum. The 6 inches that you mention would be the circumference of the part that is causing it. Fusers will never cause either problem.
