In August, Konica Minolta experienced a fire at a factory in Japan, causing toner production delays and knock-on impacts getting toner to print service providers.
If you install a new toner cartridge but the “Toner Low”, “Replace Toner” or “Toner Ended” error indication remains, the toner cartridge may not be installed correctly. Reinstall the toner cartridge, referring to the instructions on how to replace the toner cartridge.
Remove your new cartridge and replace it with the old one. Leave your printer and go and do something else for 10 minutes. Replace the old cartridge with the new one again. These two steps alone often resolve the issue, so see if your printer now recognises your new cartridges.
If you are using a USB connection, make sure that the cable is properly connected. If your printer is connected via wireless network, verify that the wireless connection is working. If all seems fine, restart the printer and try again. If the Konica printer is offline, the error can be caused by faulty printer drivers.
Blurring, Smears, and Streaks – These issues can be caused by a defective toner cartridge or a toner cartridge not installed correctly. To fix toner streaks, first, print several blank pages to see if it fixes the print quality.
You`ll be able to keep printing until the black toner runs out. When the black toner runs out, you won`t be able to print until you replace it.

To view detailed information for troubleshooting purposes, you can configure settings so that the error code is displayed simultaneously. In the administrator mode, select [Maintenance] – [Network Error Code Display Setting], and set [Error Code Display] to [ON] (Default: [OFF]).
If this type of chip is in your toner, you will need to replace the chip when refilling your cartridge. Other chips can be reset with a “resetter,” a small plastic tool that physically connects with the cartridge chip and tells the chip to return its count of spent droplets to zero.
1. Paper Jams. Paper jams are a common problem for printers, resulting in time-consuming and frustrating delays. It can occur when loose sheets of paper get stuck in the rollers or feeding mechanism of the printer.
Printers rely on ink or toner to produce images on paper or other media. The biggest difference between ink and toner is probably the fact that each of these works with a different type of printer. Inkjet printers rely on ink while laser printers rely on toner, but the differences don`t stop there.
Toner flaking off paper? You`re probably using a heavier stock of paper. The heavier the paper, the more heat is needed to fuse the toner to the page. Your copier can`t automatically sense the type of paper that`s loaded so it thinks it`s printing to regular paper, which is usually the default setting.
In contrast, thermal printers do not apply ink or toner to the paper. Instead, they use special paper coated with a heat-sensitive layer that changes color as soon as the paper gets close to a heat source. Thermal printers require the use of specialized paper that changes color when exposed to heat.
The most obvious is most common on laser color printers and can be detected by a flashing message on the printer display screen. Other signs of a bad printer drum include printing blank pages, printing gray pages and strange sounds coming from the printer as it prints.
Ensure Proper Ink Cartridge Insertion
There is a possibility that it didn`t properly click into the designated slot. If this is the case, you should lift the cover and double-check in order to verify that the cartridge is clicked into place. Otherwise, it would not be possible for the printer to detect it.
We have serviced hundreds of thousands of printers over the decades we have been in this industry and we have found that properly installed, new compatible cartridges do not damage printers.
A compatible toner is the generic alternative to the OEM toner. While all OEM toners for your printer are virtually identical due to the high standard of quality control, generic toner quality varies widely, depending on the remanufacturing process and brand.
Open the printer`s web page and Sign in as Administrator. On the General tab select Reset Factory Settings in the menu.

Optical toner sensing. The printer directs a light beam into the toner hopper through a window (light guide). If unblocked by toner, the light exits through an opposite window and is detected by a receiver. When the optical receiver detects light a high percent- age of the time, the printer concludes that toner is low.
