How to Identify and Fix Common Problems ?

Interchangeable parts are parts (components) that are identical for practical purposes. They are made to specifications that ensure that they are so nearly identical that they will fit into any assembly of the same type. One such part can freely replace another, without any custom fitting, such as filing.
Interchangeable parts and their effect on the world
The unfortunate side-effect of interchangeability was that it practically wiped out the world`s class of skilled craftsmen. These skilled workers could no longer compete with high-volume manufacturing methods.
In the change process the rule for minimizing the number of parts is: Assign to each unique part only one unique part number. A part is unique if it is not interchangeable with another one. Interchangeable parts always should have the same part number.
For example, cars, computers, furniture, almost all products used today, are made from interchangeable parts.
Interchangeable parts, popularized in America when Eli Whitney used them to assemble muskets in the first years of the 19th century, allowed relatively unskilled workers to produce large numbers of weapons quickly and at lower cost, and made repair and replacement of parts infinitely easier.
The output of interchangeable manufacture is better in quality, cheaper in cost, and more useful than would be possible without it. It constitutes one of the greatest contributions of the machine age, and we can be proud that when the British Government introduced it into England they called it “the American system.”
Interchangeable objects or people can be substituted, and no one would know the difference. Some things cannot be switched: if you replace spoons with forks, people are going to have trouble eating soup. Other things are interchangeable: if you switch them, nothing will be lost.
– complete (functional); – incomplete (restricted).
: capable of being interchanged. especially : permitting mutual substitution.
interchangeable equipment means equipment intended to be installed on a machine, for which the installation can be done by the operator, in order to change its function or attribute a new function; (équipement interchangeable)
The majority of products manufactured today – vehicles, computers, furniture, toys – use interchangeable parts, meaning easily transferred from one brand or model of a product to another. In fact, the entire concept of mass production depends on interchangeability.
As such, it became an important production technique throughout the later years of the Industrial Revolution and remains an important innovation still today.
Interchangeable parts is the idea that identical parts used for multiple goods make it possible for manufactured goods to be made quickly and replaced easily by unskilled workers facilitating mass production.
As such, it became an important production technique throughout the later years of the Industrial Revolution and remains an important innovation still today.
Interchangeability can refer to: Interchangeable parts, the ability to select components for assembly at random and fit them together within proper tolerances. Interchangeability (computer science), the ability that an object can be replaced by another object without affecting code using the object.

smudged parts on printouts
ANSWER : You don’t give enough detail. It’s doubtful the new drums would cause smudging. If it’s just one color, then look at the surface of the drum. It should be visible. If you don’t see it on the drum and it repeats several times on the page, then it would be a worn or dirty surface on the fuser.

Unidentified part
ANSWER : Best guess would be the paper arm sensor for the Manual Feed tray. It would pop in the center above the opening where the paper feeds in. It dangles down on top of the paper and when there is no paper, it falls down into a recess and blocks the paper sensor above. Without an arm, the sensor would always think there is paper in the tray.
