From the touchscreen control panel: Touch the Wireless icon . From the HP Smart app: Click Printer Settings, and then click Printer Information. From the printed network report: Press the Information button to print an information page.
Click the General tab, and then click Printing Preferences. Click the Basics tab, and then click About. Locate the page count at the bottom of the About This Driver screen.
On the Start menu, click on Settings. Select Devices > Printers & Scanners. Select your printer, and then click on the Manage button. On the left hand side, click Print Test Page.
Test pages often include text, graphics, and images that, when printed, aim to maintain the health of your printer (and cartridges) while highlighting any issues that your printer may be having.
A typical ink cartridge will yield 250 to 300 pages depending on the color density of the prints. The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages. Some larger laser printers can even have toners that will yield up to 30,000 pages!
Printing on 10% = 240 pages. Printing on 20% = 120 pages. Printing on 40% = 60 pages. Printing on 80% = 30 pages.
Page 1 always starts on the right side and each side of the sheet counts as one page. So, when you flip page 1 over, you`ll find page 2 on the back (now on the left-hand side). Page 3 is on the right, and when you flip it over, page 4 will be on the left, 5 on the right, and so on.
Press the ENTER/MENU button. Press the < or > button until the display reads CONFIGURATION REPORT. Press the ENTER/MENU button. NOTE: Two pages will print.

What repair needs to be done for a "50 needs repair" message on an HP Laserjet IIIP?
ANSWER : I don’t know what you mean by good toner cartridges. They haven’t been built in about 10 years, so if they are new OEMs in the box, they are guaranteed to fail. The 50 error on that printer is mostly a burned out fuser lamp. This site was sold, so as you can see, there are no more kits available.
ANSWER : I usually look for screws that might be holding it. If it doesn’t come off after removing the screws, sometimes you have to slide it to remove it. If that doesn’t work, then you get out the small, flat bladed pocket screwdriver. Use it to gently pry around the edges of the panel. Have you tried grabbing the paper clip with some needle nosed pliers? Either that or a small magnet to pull it out. Another possibility would be to hook the clip and pull it out that way.
need wiper blade
ANSWER : Wiper blades have to be replaced. Unfortunately, most vendors only sell them in packs of ten. You can google EX wiper blades. Still cheaper than replacing a cartridge.
Service Manual needed to check PS Voltages
ANSWER : I really doubt you can find a service manual for it, if they even exist.
Brother HL-2170W — 2nd sheet printing causes jam
ANSWER : I tried Angry Larry’s link to Photobucket but there’s an error message. I tried rocklobster’s link to Imageshack, but it’s for a different printer. Can someone please send me the photos to fix this issue with my Brother HL-2170W? My email is [email protected] Very much appreciated!
Need of Konica Minolta printer?
ANSWER : Its a good product. Here I would like to share some key features of this printer..
Toner cartridge full, printer displays: "empty needs replacing"
ANSWER : I once went to a customer who had a similar issue. They had installed new cartridges and judging from the box, they looked OEM. Strange thing was they felt empty when lifted and they were missing the chip on the outside that tells the printer it is installed and keeps track of how many copies were printed with that cartridge. The printer has no other way of knowing if the cartridge is full or empty.
Printer stops pulling paper from tray 2 after a few sheets
ANSWER : Sticking pickup roller solenoid. Pretty easy fix. You need to remove the right side covers. The back one just slides off, but the top holds the front one. I usually just take the 2 right side screws off and gently lift the top enough to pop off the side panel. Open the metal door on the formatter assy. Then release the tab in the middle. There’s also a tab at the front of the panel. When putting it back on, make sure you engage the rocker switch and the metal rod before pushing it into place. When you get it open, you’ll see the solenoid at the bottom front. There’s 1 screw holding it in place. Remove it and take the top plate and spring off. Be careful not to lose the spring. Then scrape off the gooey crap on top and clean off the plate as well. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt in place of the remnants of the disintegrating sponge that HP uses. You can find it at the hardware store used for the bottom of chair legs.
