To brief on teh functionality- Fuser assembly is made up of heating element, thermistors, teflon etc. if thermistor is not able to reach to the operataing temperature so that it can send signal to the printer that i am ready to work, then it gives 50.0 error message.
The message `Fuser Error` or `Self-Diagnostic` means either the fuser has reached the maximum temperature allowed or there has been an error in detection of the correct temperature during specific times of the printing process.
50.AF is a low fuser temperature error and usually caused by a defective fuser. Resetting the printer is unlikely to resolve this error.
Streaking, smudging, black lines, and double images are all symptoms of a bad fuser. When you notice these printing defects and experience problems, such as paper jams or wrinkles, this is a good sign to replace the fuser kit.
55 error codes are NVRAM issues and rarely caused by the cartridge. Bad power is a common cause. Make sure the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet and not into a surge protector, multi outlet strip or UPS.
If the 50.1 Fuser error message returns, it`s time to replace your fuser. Also, on these LaserJet 5000 & 5100 series printers, when the fuser fails with a 50.1 error we recommend you replace the entire maintenance kit including the paper feed components, NOT just the fuser.
Error 50.8 suggests one end of the fuser is not heating up which may be damage to the sleeve or heavy media. The fuser may not be to blame.
When a 50.4F. 00 error is displayed on the control panel, it indicates that there is an issue with the fuser or the power outlet where the printer is connected. Turn the printer off, and then back on to clear the error. Ensure that the power outlet, to which the printer is connected, is in good working condition.
If you have NOT recently replaced the fuser or heavily jostled the printer around, then the 50.2F. 00 Fuser error indicates you have an actual fuser failure and the fuser needs replacing.
A component found in electrostatic printers, laser printers, and xerographic printers and photocopiers. The fuser unit is used to permanently bond toner to a substrate by applying heat and pressure. A fuser unit is made up of two rollers; one to apply heat and one to apply pressure.
Printing made easy with an HP Fuser Kit

It lets you print up to 150,000 pages of dynamic quality before you need to replace it.

Look inside the fuser opening to make sure there is no debris or jammed paper. Remove any debris or jammed paper, if found. Hold the handles on each side of the fuser and reinstall it in the printer.
The message “Fuser Kit Low” or “Fuser Kit Very Low” on your HP Color LaserJet M553 series printer is a warning that you have reached the recommended number of prints for your fuser assembly. (The fuser assembly is the consumable part in your printer which heats up and bonds toner to the paper.
The following are the top reasons why paper jams occur:

unsupported paper/media is used. incorrect paper settings in the tray and/or the print driver. paper loaded incorrectly and/or paper edge guides not adjusted properly in the tray. humidity and/or paper condition and storage.

Most fusers last between 50,000 and 200,000 pages, depending on the design. Smaller cheap printers tend to have short fuser lives, while fusers used in larger office printers tend to be long-lasting and easily replaced.
50.2 error indicates that the printer is not heating up fast enough. This can be caused by a bad heating element in the fuser but can also be caused when the printer does not have adequate power due to overloaded circuits or being plugged into a power strip or surge bar that limits current flow.

Toner dots fused to drum
ANSWER : You can try alcohol on a cotton pad to remove the toner. Wipe dry afterwards. If the drum does not have nicks in the coating, it should be OK.

changed fusing unit, machine won't power (won't come back on)
ANSWER : You should always change fusers with the power plug pulled. You should check and make sure both ends of the power plug are firmly in. I’ve been on calls where I have found either end not connected. Waste of my time.
