How to print on thick paper/cardstock. Open your document and select File > Print. Before sending your document to print, select Properties which will open your printer`s driver settings. Find the Paper Settings tab, this will allow you to select various media types that your printer can handle.
HP recommends reading the documentation that came with your printer, including the owner`s manual or user guide, to find out what types of paper your printer can support. LaserJet and OfficeJet printers can typically handle card stock, though others may not.
The printer can handle page sizes up to 8.5 x 14″ (legal) and can print borderless photos as large as 8.5 x 11″. In addition to plain and photo paper, the printer is compatible with envelopes, card stock, and transparencies. The Envy 4500 makes it easy to print from anywhere.
Right-click your product, and then select Printing Preferences. From the Printing Preferences menu, select Paper/Quality. From the Paper Source drop-down menu, select Tray 2.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is an excellent printer for cardstock and is compatible with cardstock weights up to 110 lb. It offers 4800 x 1200 dpi color resolution across a range of cardstock finishes, with excellent ink absorption.
Some printers have “heavy paper” settings that can be used for cardstock; others are so sensitive that you can program them for the exact weight of paper you`re using. The paper tray may also need to be moved to a different position. Your printer`s online manual should provide specific guidance.
You can achieve great printing results on quality, thick, heavy cardstock using an inkjet printer. And yes, you can save some money too! Inkjet printing is often an absolutely viable alternative to professionally designed, store-bought, and third-party printed cards.
80 lb Cover Weight/ 216 gsm card stock is our most commonly used card stock. It is a medium weight card stock that will go through almost any type of printer.
Click on the drop-down menu under the “Paper type” or “Media type” heading. Select the “Cardstock” or “Matte” option — whichever paper type you have — to set it to the thick paper setting. Click “OK.”

Can you print on cardstock? Cardstock is heavier and thicker than regular printer paper and typically uses more ink. While many printers can handle lighter sheets of cardstock (such as a 65lb or 80lb card stock), thicker cardstocks (over 80lb) don`t bend as easily, so using commercial printers is preferable.
The rule of thumb is, the higher the GSM (grams per square meter), the thicker and heavier the cardstock is. A 65 lb cardstock would have a GSM of 176, whereas a 110 lb cardstock would have a GSM between 270 – 308.
Cardstock: Cardstock printer paper is thicker than ordinary paper. Its thickness and durability mean it`s often used to create paper menus, postcards and invitations. Cardstock can be coated or uncoated, depending on the project.
Smears and smudges on the paper can be caused by dirt, dust, or toner accumulated on the rollers or transfer belt as it passes through the paper. Cleaning your printer, particularly the rollers, is one of the options for removing black markings from paper.
The most common weights — or thickness — used for printing documents are 20 lb to 28 lb laser paper. Laser printer paper can come in a variety of weights, up to 60 lb and beyond. It`s important to remember that the thicker the paper, the more difficult it may be to correctly fuse ink to each sheet.
The paper-thickness lever is located on the left side of the printer. The numbers next to the lever indicate the thickness setting. Use the table below to select the appropriate paper thickness.

If you are printing on paper over 200gsm, it is advisable that you use the bypass tray rather than a paper tray, as it passes the sheet on the straightest route through the printer, which will reduce the risk of paper jams, as the thick paper is less flexible than thin paper.

ANSWER : Isopropyl alcohol is not recommended for rubber rollers. It dries out the rubber and hasten it’s cracking and breaking. It will do nothing to restore the grip. Those rollers are really hard to replace. It would be easy if that dumbass secondary menu really worked. None of the techs I’ve spoke to ever got into it. Everyone I know sends a print job and listens for the roller to rotate into position where you can pull it off.

Laserjet M603DN tray 2 not lifting
ANSWER : I had a similar issue with a M602, though it’s the previous generation machine they are close in design. This one kept saying tray 2 lifting but there was not a sound of the motor even trying. My first thoughts were replace the lift motor then DC controller but it was replacing the formatter that fixed it after other parts made no difference.

when printing front and back, the front will print well but the back will fade
ANSWER : It happens because second side voltage is much higher and the board breaks. Are you getting this issue in auto duplex only, or same error you are getting when you print second side manually?

Printer stops pulling paper from tray 2 after a few sheets
ANSWER : Sticking pickup roller solenoid. Pretty easy fix. You need to remove the right side covers. The back one just slides off, but the top holds the front one. I usually just take the 2 right side screws off and gently lift the top enough to pop off the side panel. Open the metal door on the formatter assy. Then release the tab in the middle. There’s also a tab at the front of the panel. When putting it back on, make sure you engage the rocker switch and the metal rod before pushing it into place. When you get it open, you’ll see the solenoid at the bottom front. There’s 1 screw holding it in place. Remove it and take the top plate and spring off. Be careful not to lose the spring. Then scrape off the gooey crap on top and clean off the plate as well. I put a piece of thin sticky backed felt in place of the remnants of the disintegrating sponge that HP uses. You can find it at the hardware store used for the bottom of chair legs.
