41.2 Error Code on HP Laser Printers
The 41.2 is still is a laser/scanner error—the good old “temporary loss of beam detect.” And in most printers, the possible causes are the same as always: bad laser/scanner (by far the most common), bad DC controller board, or bad connections between these two.
If your printer`s status displays “Printer in error state,” there may be a problem with the printer itself. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your PC by Wi-Fi or cable. Check it for low paper or ink, and be sure the cover isn`t open and the paper isn`t jammed.
Turn off the printer and then turn back on. When the memory starts to count press and hold the ok button and continue to hold until all 3 light come on solid. Release and scroll down in the menu to cold reset and press the ok button. You will have to have the network cable disconnected if you want all 0`s.
Remove any jammed paper from inside the right door. If no jammed paper is visible, remove the duplexer. Pull any jammed paper straight out of the duplex area. Reinstall the duplexer.
If you are seeing the 41.3 error on a LaserJet 4, 4Plus, or 5 series printer, and you find a blank sheet of paper in the path, your printer is probably having a failure with the solenoid on the paper feed assembly. This is becoming a common issue as these printers get older.
This error might display if the fuser temperature becomes too hot. Follow these steps to turn off the printer and allow the fuser to cool before printing again. Press the Power button to turn off the printer. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Open the printer`s web page and Sign in as Administrator. On the General tab select Reset Factory Settings in the menu.
1. Paper Jams. Paper jams are a common problem for printers, resulting in time-consuming and frustrating delays. It can occur when loose sheets of paper get stuck in the rollers or feeding mechanism of the printer.

Check Cables and Printer USB Ports Check all cable connections (including the power cord) on the printer side. If the printer does have power and you`ve properly connected the communication cable, but the printer is still not recognized, try switching to a different USB port on the PC.
Changing the status of the printer:
In the Devices and Printers window right-click or tap and hold on your printer and select See what`s printing. Click or tap the Printer tab, then untick Use Printer Offline from the menu.
