A plotter is a device that receives commands from the computer and then draws its picture on the page. A printer is a device that prints texts and images on a page after receiving commands from a network. These are less cost-effective and much more expensive.
Deskjet is a brand name for inkjet printers manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. These printers range from small domestic to large industrial models, although the largest models in the range have generally been dubbed DesignJet.
A typical ink cartridge will yield 250 to 300 pages depending on the color density of the prints. The yield of a typical toner cartridge in a laser printer is between 2,500 and 3,000 pages.
An average ink cartridge will be able to print anywhere from 120 to 220 pages before needing to be replaced. This cost can add up. You should know the expected lifetime of your printer if you expect the ink cartridge and page yield to be higher.
Inkjet printers typically run at a lower price point than laser printers, and printer ink is cheaper than toner. However, laser printers and toner have a longer lifespan despite their high cost. Meaning laser toner cartridges have a lower cost per printed page than printer ink.
Benefits of All-In-One Printers
One device takes up less space than three devices, which provides a rather obvious benefit, especially for smaller offices. Printers, scanners, copiers and fax machines tend to be bulky objects that can take up a lot of room on a desk, reducing available workspace.
If you both print and scan more than a few times a month or routinely need to scan both sides of a page, an AIO is probably worth the investment. Otherwise, look for a cheap print-only machine and a good scanning app. Do you frequently print in color or want to print the occasional glossy photo?
The principal difference of a plotter vs printer is the size of paper they can use. Traditional printers can create large prints comprising multiple sheets of paper. But you can use large rolls of paper with a plotter, allowing for increased accuracy for scaling and ratios.
Plotters are used primarily in technical drawing and CAD applications, where they have the advantage of working on very large paper sizes while maintaining high resolution. Another use has been found by replacing the pen with a cutter, and in this form plotters can be found in many garment and sign shops.

HP 746 and 747 inks produce fade-resistant prints to last over 200 years (in dark storage – see HP for specific details).
Designjets which are not designed for Canvas printing have a different build quality and are far better suited to the finer weights of media passing through them (typically CAD or Universal Bond or Bright White Paper of around 80gsm-90gsm). By contrast, Canvas is a heavier media of approx 280gsm-430gsm.
Ink cartridges can usually last two or three years if properly packaged and stored. But in a standard case, they will eventually dry out and become useless after this period. However, many major ink cartridge makers don`t put expiration dates on their cartridges.
Here`s a quick and simple answer: Ink cartridges are expensive so companies can make a profit. Most printers are sold at a loss. A manufacturer makes money NOT by selling consumers an inkjet or laser printer, but by selling the supplies needed to print. The manufacturer controls the technology and the prices.
Can you print with one or two empty ink cartridges? The quick answer is: Yes, you can (if you own a printer model that allows it) — but you shouldn`t keep printing with an empty cartridge for too long.
Here`s a quick calculation you can do to get a rough idea of how many pages your cartridge will print. The manufacturer`s capacity is based on 5% of the page being covered in ink or toner, but if you are printing large shaded areas or more than 4 paragraphs of text, we generally print at more like 10 – 15% coverage.
How Many Pages per Ink Cartridge On Average You Can Print? How many pages can you print with one ink cartridge? According to PCMag, a standard ink cartridge will print an average of 220 pages, (with 11 ml of ink). A high capacity cartridge prints an average of 350 pages, (its tank holds 16 ml of ink).
You can continue to print with one or more empty cartridges, but HP recommends replacing them as soon as possible to avoid printhead damage.
You`ll be able to keep printing until the black toner runs out. When the black toner runs out, you won`t be able to print until you replace it.
Black ink cartridges usually have more ink than color cartridges and cost either the same or less than color cartridges so it is always cheaper to print in black and white.
Toner is a dry powdery substance that won`t stain like an ink cartridges, but it can get messy if handled improperly. Monochrome laser printers print with just a black toner cartridge. Color laser printers use four separate black, cyan, magenta and yellow toner cartridges to produce a print.

ANSWER : You need to buy a “head cleaning kit”. What that does is inject cleaning fluid through the ink port on top down through the heads using a syringe. They don’t cost much. ANSWER : I had the same problem. What I did was 1. Turned off the printer 2. Unplugged it 3. Pushed the power button to discharge any leftover power 4. Plugged the printer back in and waited for it to start up amazingly no more error message.
