Reasons why your HP printer has ink but won`t print
This may seem obvious, but it sometimes happens: first make sure your paper tray has paper in it. Misalignment, clogged printheads, faulty data communication or insufficient ink levels can also be sources of the problem.
The orange exclamation point usually indicates one of the following issues has occurred, Insufficient power, There is a paper jam in the printer. The top cover is open. No paper was loaded in the tray or the tray was not loaded properly. The printer goes into sleep mode or standby mode.
Open or search for the HP folder in your list of installed software programs, click the folder for your printer, then click the name of your printer. HP Printer Assistant opens. On the HP Printer Assistant window, click Maintain Your Printer. Click the Device Services tab, then click Estimated Ink Levels .
The Power light blinks at a steady interval when the printer is processing a print job. If the Power light blinks fast, the ink cartridge door might be open, or the printer might be in an error state. If an error message displays on the computer screen, follow the on-screen messages to resolve the issue.
The most common reason for that is print head clogging. To improve the situation, you may start a cleaning cycle on your printer (make sure to see the manual for a reference). We recommend our customers running a couple of cleaning cycles before installing a cartridge if they switch to a new ink producer.
The easiest remedy for this is to open the box and stand the cartridge upside down for a few minutes before using. Next, get a damp paper towel, fold it into quarters and the set cartridge print head down onto it, holding it there for three minutes. This will help to prime the print head and pull the ink out.
